Elise Estrada (born July 30, 1987 in Marikina City, Philippines) is a Canadian pop singer from Surrey, British Columbia. She is of Filipino descent.
Biography
Estrada competed in the Pinoy Pop Superstar competition in 2006.
Her 2007 debut single "Insatiable" reached number 44 in the Canadian Hot 100 chart, in the summer of 2007. The song was produced by The Beat 94.5's annual talent search competition in Vancouver.
Elise is also a former beauty queen, holding the title Miss Vancouver 2004. She was also first runner-up in the Binibining Pilipinas World of Canada Competition.
Elise also competed against her sister, Emmalyn, at The Beat 94.5's annual talent search competition. She won.
Elise's big break came in late March 2007 when she won a Vancouver radio contest and earned a spot on the RockSTAR roster. RockSTAR introduced her to such people as Grammy Award Winning mixer, Orlando Calzada, who mixed songs for Destiny's Child and Jennifer Lopez. [1]
Elise attended Holy Cross Regional High School.
Elise won a 2008 Canadian Radio Music Award for Best New Solo Artist. [2] Elise's single "Unlove You" made it to the top 5 on i-Tunes top songs [3]
on March 22, 2008.
Elise has toured with George, Girlicious, Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Backstreet Boys,and 50 Cent [4]
She performed at the Canada Day festival in Surrey, on July 1st 2008. And she also performed a free concert during spring break in a mall in her hometown in 2008
Elise has been nominated for R&B/SOUL RECORDING OF THE YEAR at the 2009 Juno Awards. The awards show, hosted by comedian Russell Peters airs on CTV on Sunday, March 29 from General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC.
Elise's single "Crash and Burn" is a hugely-requested radio track. [5]
