Lobby Day 2020 is a planned Gun Rights protest taking place on Monday, January 20th, 2020, and will organize at the capitol of Richmond, Virginia. The protest is an extension of the Second Amendment sanctuary movement and is organized by the Virginia Citizens Defense League.
Background
The protest garnered national attention several days before it happened.[1] Governor Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency ahead of the event,[2] saying they "are coming to intimidate and to cause harm." President Donald Trump has also acknowledged the event[3] and declared that the United States Constitution is under attack in the state of Virginia.[4]
Richmond officials have announced which streets would be closing in preparation for the event.[5]
