Victor Nnamdi Okafor (1964–1999) predominantly known by his chieftaincy title; Eze Ego was a Nigerian businessman who, as reported by the Nigerian media made a pact with a demon in order to amass wealth in exchange for his soul. Ego's reputation in the south eastern part of Nigeria popularized the concept of human sacrifice to demons in exchange for wealth. This practice is commonly referred to as Ogwu Ego by the Igbo people of Nigeria. Ogwu Ego when translated to English literally means blood money Eze Ego died on 25 December 1999 under very suspicious and mysterious circumstances.
