The Dalfsen train crash occurred on 23 February 2016 when a passenger train collided with a crane on a level crossing at Dalfsen, Overijssel, Netherlands. At least one person has been killed and 10 others injured.[2][3]
Accident
At 08:50 CET (07:50 UTC),[4] a passenger train collided with a crane at Dalfsen, Overijssel, Netherlands.[5] It is reported that the crane was crossing the line when it was hit by the train.[6] It had waited at the crossing while one train passed, but then started to cross and was hit by a second train.[7] All four carriages were derailed.[5] One person was killed, the driver of the train.[4] There were fifteen passengers on board the train.[7] Six of the survivors were injured,[4] one person sustaining serious injuries.[6]
