Delhi Public School, India (DPS) is among the largest institutions providing education at school level in India. Although its name suggests otherwise, it is not localized or limited to the Delhi region, and it also has responsibility for a number of schools in other countries. Its administrative body is the non-profit-making organization known as the Delhi Public School Society. Delhi Public Schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in New Delhi.
There are now over 150 Delhi Public Schools in India with the largest schools located at Kanpur,Bhopal, Rama Krishna Puram, Mathura Road, Noida, Udaipur, Dehradun, Faridabad, Dwarka, Bhilai and Vasant Kunj. Outside India there are 13 Delhi Public Schools in ten different countries: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Indonesia, Kuwait, Nepal (Birgunj, Dharan and Biratnagar), Qatar, Saudi Arabia (Jeddah and Riyadh), Singapore and Uganda (Kampala).[1]
Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, founded in 1949 was the first Delhi Public School. It was founded by educationist Reverend James Tytler.[2] It was followed in 1972 by Delhi Public School, R K Puram. Both schools are today among the most respected schools in India.[3]

DPS Aligarh was established in 1998 and is a co-educational day cum boarding school. The school is located at Aligarh-Agra and occupies three different campuses. DPS Junior Wing and DPS Senior Wing are both situated on the Agra Road. A second DPS Junior Wing is located at Civil Lines and occupies a panoramic piece of land of more than 26 acres (110,000 m2). The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school's motto is Service before self.
The school's three phases of construction are over and the last phase is in the pipeline which includes the construction of a swimming pool.
DPS Aligarh has hosted the International Girls Athletic Meet on two occasions since 1998.
Now in 2009 Smartboard facility has been installed here.
DPS, Bangalore
DPS operates on the franchise model and thus aggressively expands - as of now there are 3 DPS schools in Bangalore - DPS North,DPS South and DPS East. They are owned mostly by the family of its owner, who is a leading politician. DPS North has been successful thanks to the DPS brand.
The school has excellent infra structure and all 3 branches are built around great localities (in the rural outskirts) away from the pollution and sound of cities.The schools have also incorporated computers in teaching.

DPS Bathinda was established in 2003 at Goniana road, Bathinda in the state of Punjab in India. It is a day cum residential senior secondary school situated in a sprawling campus of 14 acres having the facilities for swimming,horse riding,football,basketball,hockey and cricket. DPS Bokaro was established in 1986.The school is primarily located in SEC-IV/C and occupies two different campuses. DPS Junior Wing and DPS Senior Wing are located in SEC-V and SEC-IV/C respectively. DPS Harni
Delhi Public School Harni, near the Vadodara Airport started in April 2006. Now Mr. A. K. Sinha, the former Principal of DPS Vadodara, who was instrumental in setting up the school, has taken charge of DPS Harni. Mr. A. K. Sinha has returned after a stint at Tokyo, Japan where he set up a CBSE school.

Delhi Public School Noida (DPSN) was set up in 1982 by the DPS Society. It is located in Sector 30, Noida. Delhi Public School, Raipur is open for both boys and girls from pre-nursery to Class XI. The medium of instruction is English and the students, apart from learning Hindi and Sanskrit, are given an option to learn a foreign language such as German or French. Delhi Public School, Ranipur, Haridwar was established in 1977. It was the first ever venture of DPS Society outside Delhi.
With an All India character, it is an amalgam of industrial ethos of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.(BHEL) and the Delhi Public School Society. The principal is Mr. Kailash Chandra Pandey. The school has recently added two new wings :the pre-primary wing and the Middle wing with a huge investment. The school now plans to add hostel facilities for outside students.

With a single minded pursuit, to spread the light of quality education among the middle class, the idea of establishing DPS Rohini was mooted by the visionaries of the DPS Society in 1995 and consequently DPS Rohini was established on 3 July, 1995 under the aegis of Delhi Public School Society. It initially started functioning in the afternoon shift at DPS Mathura Road. With 250 students, the borrowed premises of DPS -Mathura Road, 8 teachers and a focussed and firm mentor Mrs. Rita Sen as the Founder Head Mistress, DPS-Rohini's tryst with destiny began in July, 1995.
In April 2000, the school got its own home in Sector-24 Rohini.

Delhi Public School, Rourkela was established on 1 December 1993, located at sector-14, Rourkela. It has an academic centre with tennis courts, playground, garden and auditorium. Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj was established in the year 1991 by the DPS Society. Mr Vinay Kumar has been the principal of the school since its inception. DPS VK has a staff of 205 teachers at the senior and junior level.
A number of former Vice-Principals have been placed as Principals at other institutions. Notably, Ms. Nina Sehgal is now the principal of DPS Noida, Ms. Meeta Rai is now the principal of DPS Indirapuram.
