sourcing the description to the video isn't necessary, but having a one paragraph description of the video is quite standard, and not excessive. Partial revert, so I'm done for the night. |

The music video commences with shots of Gomez singing the first lines, "whoa, whoa," and bright lights shining upon her; she is wearing a gray shirt, black tights and boots. Then, the band, composed of four male members, is introduced as Gomez dances and nods her head. The background in the music video is a large projection of patterned geometrical figures that constantly alter to divergent colors. Gomez is then seen in a "[[photo shoot]]-like" set wearing a white shirt and a zebra-patterned skirt. As the video progresses Gomez and her band are seen singing, dancing, playing instruments and using props. Gomez holds a mirror and plastic roses, which she then throws away, in conjunction to the song's lines. The video ends with Gomez taking a quick bow, holding her microphone. |

Song |
"Falling Down" is a pop song performed by American band Selena Gomez & the Scene. The song was released as the lead single from their upcoming debut album, Kiss & Tell. The song was released to Radio Disney on August 21, 2009 and later available via digital retailers on August 25. The song was written by Ted Bruner, Trey Vittetoe and Gina Schock, who've written for other Disney acts in the past. The upbeat song has prominent pop rock characteristics and lyrically is a ridicule of Hollywood and the famous life, according to Gomez.
The song has also garnered critical success, but more limited commercial success, charting at ninety-three in the Billboard Hot 100 and at ninety-five in the Canadian Hot 100.
Background
The song was written by Ted Bruner, Trey Vittetoe and Gina Schock of the Go-Go's; who've also contributed to other songs on Gomez's debut album and the title track on Breakout by Miley Cyrus. "Falling Down" is a upbeat pop song that contains a strong use of drums and electric guitars with predominant "bloopy synths."[1] Lyrically, "Falling Down" speaks in regards to accusations of wrongdoing and has a sense of longing for a non-benefiting relationship.[1] Gomez stated, on an interview with Ernie D of Radio Disney, that the song ultimately is a ridicule of the Hollywood life and fame, that was the meaning behind "Smile for the camera, 'cause they're all about to trash ya'."[2] Gomez further ellaborated on the concept on an interview with Just Jared Jr., saying,
[...] it's basically about Hollywood and what people think about it and essentially how plastic it is sometimes. It's fun and I think girls can relate to it somewhat, for me it was because of Hollywood but it can really relate to a mean girl, an ex-boyfriend, to whoever."[3]
Critical reception
The song has received positive critical reviews. Bill Lamb of About.com described the song as an "aggressive ultra-catchy pop arrangement with sassy vocals and pointed lyrics." He compared the song to the musical stylings of Hilary Duff, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato and Avril Lavgine.[1] Lamb also noted that "The mix leaves in Gomez' occasional breathless delivery that only conveys more immediacy for the song."[1]
Chart performance
The song debuted at number fifty-one of Hot Digital Songs which led to it making into the Billboard Hot 100, issue dated September 12, 2009, at position 93.[4][5][6] In the same week, "Falling Down" debuted at number ninety-five in the Canadian Hot 100.[6][7]
