He was born at Lyasiksa, in 1865. He is the eldest son of Her Highness Princess Matilda, who is the second daughter of His Majesty [[Robert Charles Frederic]], conceived by a junior wife. He was educated at the Moravian Mission, at [[Corn Islands|Great Corn Island]]. He succeeded after the abdication of his cousin, 8 March 1889; he was elected as successor to his cousin by the chiefs and nobles of the Miskitu Nation, on the 7th of March 1888. Formally proclaimed and installed as Hereditary Chief of Miskitu nation, at Government House, in Bluefields, on the 8th of March 1889. He was the Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Bluefields Militia from 1889 to1890. |
