Justin Masterson (born March 22, 1985) is a relief pitcher for the Portland Sea Dogs and is a minor league all-star. Masterson was drafted in the 2nd round in 2006 by the Boston Red Sox. He attended high school at his hometown of Beavercreek, Ohio. He also attended Bethel College and San Diego State University . He is 6-6 foot tall and weighs 250 pounds. He throws and bats right-handed.
Career
Masterson is a pitcher who pitched in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Masterson has been switched from starting pitcher to relief pitcher, also called a set-up man, throughout his career. He was signed to the minors by Dan Madsen. Masterson is an improving pitcher who has a strong character.
In 2006, Masterson was named to the Baseball America short season all-star team.[1] [2] [3]
