I provided the Emporis link for the list of Istanbul's skyscrapers, which can be verified. Moscow has taller buildings, but in terms of "total numbers" (both 150m+ and 100m+) Istanbul has more skyscrapers than any other city in Europe, including Moscow. Tags: Manual revert Reverted |

Revision as of 13:48, 29 November 2020
This list of tallest buildings in Europe ranks skyscrapers in Europe by height. The first skyscraper of Europe standing over 100 metres tall, Boerentoren, was completed in 1932, on Antwerp, while the first skyscraper standing over 200 metres tall, the main building of Moscow State University, was completed in 1953, on Moscow.
For decades, only a few major cities, such as Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Warsaw contained skyscrapers. In recent years, however, construction has spread to many other cities on the continent, including Benidorm, Manchester, Milan, Vienna and Istanbul.
As of 2020, five European cities have more than 10 skyscrapers: Istanbul (104 on the European side, 49 on the Asian side, with a total of 153 completed skyscrapers that are 100 metres or taller in height),[3] Moscow (57), London (32), Paris (21), Frankfurt (17); and only three cities in Europe have supertall skyscrapers: Moscow (7), London (1), Saint Petersburg (1). The tallest building in Istanbul, Metropol Istanbul Tower 1 (301 metres / 70 floors),[4][5] also a supertall, is in the Ataşehir district on the Asian side of the city and is therefore not included in this list.[4][5][6]

This list ranks skyscrapers in Europe that stand at least 150 metres (492 ft) tall, based on standard height measurements. Architectural details do not include antenna masts. The height data is subject to fluctuations due to simple changing of mast extensions. Existing structures are included for ranking purposes based on present height. Many non-architectural extensions (such as radio antennas) are easily added and removed from tall buildings without significantly changing the style and design of the building, which is seen as a significant part of the value of these buildings.
