Hi, there! The rule on alphabetising nominees is to ensure that no one gets undue weight over the others, aside from the winner of course. Therequiembellishere (talk) 07:53, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Winners and nominees tables
Hi, you said, "all the other awards on Wiki have bolding for winners, keep for continuity unless do for all." I can understand you saying that. I guess I should have given a better explanation. The problem isn't so much the bold; it's when there is both bold and background coloring in the winner row. That is very unnecessary and redundant. While it's good to be consistent, going according to MOS is even more important. So, if there's going to be one or the other, it's better to remove the bold because bold really shouldn't be within a table. It should only be in the heading (top row and first column). So, I am in the process of correcting those that have both bold and shading. (By the way, some have just bold and some have just shading -- not "all" are the same now either.) Have a good day. --Musdan77 (talk) 20:28, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Well, I finally finished it. I wanted to wait and submit the changes at the same time. I didn't plan on taking that long. --Musdan77 (talk) 19:10, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Can you ref that she's filming right now? Lady Lotus (talk) 17:29, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not saying that serious relationships or marriage should be in personal life, of course it should, but someone she's "linked to" romantically shouldn't be in it. It's not relevant enough until it becomes serious. You don't list every single person someone dated Lady Lotus (talk) 14:03, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Keala Settle
Can you beef up the Keala Settle article. It is currently 932 characters. It needs to get to 1500 to be eligible for WP:DYK.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:18, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- P.S. notice Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Proposal_for_a_day_of_67th_Tony_Awards_nominee_DYK_hooks. Feel free to create articles for other nominees.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:20, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Also, I just noticed that you use bare urls for inline citations. I have added examples of proper citations at both Settle and Lauren Ward. If you continue to use bare urls it just creates work for other editors who have to fix your citations. Could you please fix your citations yourself.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 15:50, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Bafta for best actress
From 1952 to 1967 there was no single best actress award, as Bafta divided it among two sub groups; domestic and foreign, same goes for best actor BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, the two were amalgamated into one in 1968. The table should replicate the best actor award, not make up a new award that didn't exist. — Chie one (talk) 14:02, 10 Jan 2014 (UTC)
- You just linked me a page that you created. The best British award is indeed defunct, as is BEST FOREIGN award. As I have explained, there were two awards (domestic and foreign) that almagamted into one in 1968. Again, the best actress page should replicate the best actor page, not make up new awards that didn't exist. I assumed good faith the first time hence I explained the correct award, but now it is vandalism. I will request that you are blocked (you and your ip) if you continue vandalising articles — Chie one (talk) 15:35, 10 Jan 2014 (UTC)
- You still don't get it..you linked me an awards page that didn't have two categories so naturally only best actress is shown. There was no best actress for bafta from 1952 to 1967...it was best British actress, best foreign actress...that's it. What you have done is create an award that didn't exist. The bafta for best actor page is exactly the awards that existed, and it is that page that should be replicated, not another awards page that has nothing in common. — Chie one (talk) 15:58, 10 Jan 2014 (UTC)
- Here is Bafta awards from 1965 http://awards.bafta.org/explore?year=1965&type=film+ ..as you can see there is no "best actress" award that you have created. There was two sub groups (British, Foreign) both of which are now defunct, and combined into one best actress award in 1968.— Chie one (talk) 16:07, 10 Jan 2014 (UTC)
- The note at the top was made up by you for an non existent award. I've explained it....there was no "best actress" award (I shall refer to bafta not a wiki user). Two awards existed and they we're called Best British actress, Best Foreign actress, nothing else.— Chie one (talk) 16:12, 10 Jan 2014 (UTC)
Best Actress
First of all, you must not have read WP:BRD because it is you who should have started this discussion when I first reverted, and I shouldn't have had to revert again. You started an edit war (a big no no). Are you not the same person who I talked to before (several sections above)? Or is this someone else using this account?
Now, why would I say, "these links aren't valid because the articles don't mention them" if I didn't check them out first? Your edit is a contradiction. You unlink Norma Desmond (which I agree with), and I reverted the links for basically the same reason. If you really want these to be valid links then you're going to have to add those other names to those articles, or possibly add footnotes to the awards article (with a reference) -- one or the other. --Musdan77 (talk) 03:39, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Nina Arianda
Your edits at Nina Arianda had several flaws:
- The infobox was devoid of any information that couldn't be found immediatley to its left, except for the unsubstantiated claims that Arianda is a "Singer" and that her period of activity stated in 2009 – she graduated then, but that alone doesn't mean she didn't appear earlier or later.
- WP:LEAD discourages mentioning awards in an article's lead.
- You removed without explanation the external link to Playbill Vault.
- You introduced a duplicate section heading "External links"
- You added an external link to IMDb which was already used as a reference.
I corrected all these, plus I removed one irrelevant category and consolidated two identical references, and I mentioned all this in my edit summary. Instead of summarily reverting my edit without edit summary, you should have followed WP:BRD and discuss the reasons for your edit and my reversal at Talk:Nina Arianda. I have now explained here why your edits were unconstructive and why I reverted them. I suggest you self-revert your last edit. If you want to respond, please do so here, not on my talk page. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 06:17, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- I believe your statement about awards is not completely accurate. I think what is discouraged is usage such as "Oscar Award-winning actor" in the opening sentence. A succinct mentioning of awards in the lede is perfectly legitimate: "He has won two Academy Awards." BMK (talk) 21:51, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Your edits
I have to take issue with some of your editing, especially when you reduce an already short lede paragraph down to a single sentence or two. Ledes are not intended to be as short as possible, they're supposed to be a succint summary of the article, and as such significant highlights of a subject's career can, and should, appear there. It's not meant to mention 'everything, but neither is is supposed to say "He was born, he lived, and he's an actor." Things that appear in the lede should also appear in the article itself, so removing material from the lede and moving it into the article is not necessarily a good thing.
Please be more careful with this in the future.
Also, do I take it that you are not a native English speaker? I ask because of your sometimes odd choices of tense, and your deliberate change of "a" to "an" in front of "British" in the lede to Valda Setterfield, a change that would fall badly on the ear of native English speakers. Your writing is generally fine, but I've had to make some strange little adjustments such as that to a number of your edits.
BMK (talk) 20:07, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- My error on the Judson Dance Theater article, I got mixed up and thought you had deleted Setterfield and Rothstein, not added them. Mp aologies. BMK (talk) 21:47, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

There are really two problems with the date of birth. First is that it is listed at all - usually the full date is omitted except for public figures, and she's a minor actress. Secondly is that it hasn't appeared in a reliable source that meets the standards of WP:V. The fact that this is a living person makes it all the more important that we be careful with this kind of thing. Yes, I saw that in IMDB, but we have the same problem there because IMDB also uses reader contributions. Coretheapple (talk) 18:15, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
well like I said, I read several interviews with her and about her career, and being born in 1941 fits her career path. she was active in the theatre back in the 70's and also started late as an actress, not moving to New York until 1977. (if she was born in 1941, should would have already been 30 in 1971). She also said she lives in the West Village in New York City, where Jane Street is.
Her full real name is not Marylouise, it's just Mary, she chose Marylouise as her stage name (Louise IS her middle name) and FamilySearch.com is simply a registry of public official documents, and only once so far have I found if the age of the person is available, it was wrong, which was obvious because I knew that person wasn't that old, but here I feel the 1941 age fits. Marylouise is a great actress and I plan on filling out her page soon with all the details of her career. HesioneHushabye (talk) 18:23, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- You're probably right, but I think that we need explicit sources for a BLP for a person who is of marginal notability and just not well known at all. If you can find a source published in year X giving her age as Y, then we can make the calculation and give it in the proper way in the article. There is a technique for doing that, but I've never used it. By the way, I erred; this discussion should really be in the article talk page. Coretheapple (talk) 18:27, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
