- Hello!! I am Cyberpower678. I am an administrator on Wikipedia. Despite that, I'm still your run of the mill user here on Wikipedia.
- I specialize in bot work and tools, but I lurk around RfPP, AfD, AIV, and AN/I, as well as RfA. If you have any questions in those areas, please feel free to ask. :-)
- For InternetArchiveBot matters specifically, please see meta:InternetArchiveBot/Problem for common issues or meta:User talk:InternetArchiveBot to leave a message
- I also serve as a mailing list moderator and account creator over at the Account Creation Center. If you have any questions regarding an account I created for you, or the process itself, feel free to email the WP:ACC team or me personally.
- At current I have helped to create accounts for 2512 different users and renamed 793 other users.
- Disputes or discussions that appear to have ended or is disputed will be archived.
All the best.—cyberpower

Are you writing me a novel?
Lol are you writing a novel? I really do appreciate you spending all this time but you needn't waste your time. I can guess at what it says. I should calm down, take a break, forget the past and come back and start fresh. I'm ruining all the good things I've done with the bad from the last couple days. Or something to that effect. Its ok. --Kumioko (talk) 02:23, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- I guess you could say I am writing you a novel. I'll just skip to it. You are an excellent contributor to Wikipedia when it comes to content work. Policies are there and apply to everyone and if they violate them, they face the consequences. I know a user who was a former admin who lost their right as an admin for violating policy so you can't people do what they want. What initially got my attention is that you made a pointless vote that will hurt the candidate's RfA and the reason for the vote has nothing to do with the candidate itself. An RfA or RfB is about the community voting to see if is a fit to be admin or not. It doesn't matter if there is too many or too little admins, the voting reason needs to be about the candidate and their abilities. Saying "Sorry we have too many as is" (which I believe 1600 out of 15000000 users is not too a lot where 16 of those are Bureaucrats) does not say anything the candidate and which is why you encountered resistance with that vote and was referred to WP:POINT. It is not the intention of anybody to pick on you or drive you from this project. Your bots can be reinstated if the malfunction is fixed if you want. I am going to leave it at that for now. BTW, you're assumption of what I was going to say was incorrect. You are seeing things from a wrong perspective. Don't start fresh, continue your work now, maybe let a user adopt you to help you out through WIkipedia to get you on the right path. I can definitely tell that you mean well. Check out WP:ADOPT for more information on this. You also aren't ruining the project.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,391,126) 02:34, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- If you read my comments at the ANI, or Village pump policy it wasn't the coding of the bot. I'm just fed up with being shit on by the community. I've been trying to do the right thing for the last 6 years and when some editor comes along pushing POV and violating policy they ignore it and block me. Its completely ridiculous. Wikipedia doesn't want contributing members they want drama queens and the more drama the better. I submitted 3 users to ANI last year alone for article ownership, harrasment and other reasons and I was told I was out of line. Then a few days ago I had one of the same users that was showing article ownership issues again and leaving harrassing comments on my page, my bots talk page and his own page and I get blocked. So I frankly dont care about being a significant contributor. I'll still make an edit or 2 here and there but I'll just muck about in discussions for a while since that seems to be what the community is about and what they find important here these days. Blogging in discussions. And although I know you mean well I don't need adopting. I know all the policies (having helped draft several), I have over 300, 000 edits, have a pile of Featured content, etc. etc. so to say I need a mentor frankly is insulting. Its silly although I know you mean well and didn't mean it that way. --Kumioko (talk) 02:45, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

- LOL you must not get out much then. I saw it almost everyday when I was managing WPUS I just chose to work around it or ignore it most of the time. Even when I reverted vandals I didn't even bother to leave messages on their talk pages because then I get messages that I am being bitey or rude or whatever...using the canned responses built into Twinkle! I just reverted it and kept going. The most common places, which also lends to the comments made on those RFA's are the admin boards. Nothing but a bunch of old hens clucking about this or that. Quite a few rarely do an edit, just blog, gripe and whine in discussions. They can block someone with speed but couldn't write an FA to save their life. Most could even get a decent B. And yet still, I'm the one that gets kicked to the curb because I'm trying to make a difference with WPUS and I'm not, nor do I want to be and Admin. Its nothing but drama from start to finish. The process starts in a blaze of fire and brimstone and the whole time you have to duck and cover to keep from getting gunned down. NOT WORTH IT, just to be able to edit a protected article or move a file. --Kumioko (talk) 03:15, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't received drama from those areas. I try to do as much as I can these days but writing a replacement bot is eating at my time. I think your problem is your not defending yourself in a position. I am going to bed now. I am hoping you're still here long enough that I can still talk to you tomorrow morning if need be. Goog night. Busy day for me tomorrow.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,396,842) 03:22, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- (lurker comment) i would second kumioko's drama comment. there seems to be an attitude of management through drama. there seems to be a systemic bias in twinkle to tag or delete material rather than improve it. the material writers get micromanaged. there seems to be a lot of ordering and not much coaching. it's pretty funny when the 90 day wonders talk to a real grognard. there are circles of competence, but it's increasingly hard to ignore the noise. Adminstats
Hi - please don't add superfluous text to the adminstats template. The templates are used in various complex ways, (see the raw style sheets for example), and adding plain text causes calculation errors. It may be possible to add the text to the default style page, but please test this first. An optimist on the run! 22:13, 18 February 2012 (UTC) Could you show me a raw style sheet? I'm not quite following.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,549,038) 22:20, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- See for example

I've just read your comment "I am to the point where I may blow under stress right now and my mind isn't sound right now" over at AN/I. I really do feel for you; times like that are just plain horrible, and I think I know how you're feeling there. Hope things improve for you very soon. (>**)> Hugz.

And there are folks there who might be interested in apprenticing and learning these codebases, so in the long run, you don't have to be the only maintainer! - Cyberpower, Pesky says you're feeling down (I have that thermometer at level 3, myself!) While I am useless at things like bot scripts, I just wanted to pop by out of the blue and reassure you that whatever is going on, it isn't just you. It's February on Wikipedia, and I swear that the whole place suffers from either cabin fever or seasonal affective disorder. Every year the drama seems to escalate from about mid-January to mid-March, easing off a bit after the equinox. So deep breaths, make no irrevokable decisions, and know you are not alone in this crazy boat! Montanabw(talk) 17:50, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Your signature
Hey Cyberpower, I just want to let you know that your signature has an extra HTML element in it. You have two font color elements for the date, like this:
<font color="green" face="Neuropol"> <font color="green" face="Neuropol">02:07, 20 February 2012 (UTC)</font><font color="green" face="Neuropol">
I've removed the extra element from your signature in that talk page post. This is just a friendly reminder. -- Luke (Talk) 02:23, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- That should fix it. Let me know if anything else is wrong. :)—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,774,837) 02:53, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- It looks like everything is fine, thanks for fixing it. -- Luke (Talk) 02:55, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- I do wonder about your signature generally Cyberpower. Signatures are meant to identify you in discussions, but also tell editors a lot about you. In general, the more fancy the signature, the more time that has been spent on it, and therefore the less time has been spent on doing other useful stuff on wikipedia. Even if not true in your case, I can guarantee that I won't be the only editor thinking in this line of thought. What's more, the mix of red and green is not great for accessibility (Colour blindness). Overall, I would suggest that the signature is bold and unfriendly. Not sure if it's what you're after. If you do think about changing it, I'd recommend going for an "understated" signature, remember it gets seen an awful lot! WormTT · (talk) 15:10, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I'm following. The font and style of the signature should represent that I am into technology and complicated codes. This signature represents that.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,874,246) 16:29, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- It's all a matter of opinion, and as long as you're within WP:SIG (which I believe you are), it's your choice. Having said that, I work with technology and am currently writing code on my other monitor. I will tell you now that complicated code is a Bad Thing. Bad bad bad thing. It stops other developers from using it, and that's the point of code, the simplest way to do a complicated thing. No one within my department would use a signature like that to show they were interested in technology and complicated code. Instead they would aim for something that looks really easy and normal, but actually is very elegant and clever. WormTT · (talk) 16:36, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- If you'll allow me an opinion, Cyberpower, I think that there's no real need to include the number of Wikipedia edits in your signature (I'm assuming you have it substituted). A simpler "contributions" link would be appreciated by many, I think. Strange Passerby (talk • cont) 16:55, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- I like the edit count in my signature which is why I added it. At Worm TT, I agree completely with you. Being a programmer out of hobby, it is always best to choose the least complicated way but sometimes it's not possible to be simple and things end up getting complicated. Microsoft is a good example of something like that. What I meant to say is that taking a complicated expression and it equating it down to a single answer is something I like to do a lot. I am studying to become an electrical engineer and complex mathematical computations is something I do best which is what I meant from what I said before.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,880,786) 17:06, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

My RfA
Thanks for your support at my RfA. Be among the first to see my L-plate!
Talking of signature colours, I'm mightily confused by your explanation page for your own, and think that newbies would be even more so, because (i) it doesn't cover past colours, like that barely visible pink and yellow which attracted comment at my RfA, and (ii) it seems to imply that your sig will change dynamically according to the time that it is read, when I think the colours are fixed according to your status at the time that you left each past message. Please consider clarifying it further! – Fayenatic L (talk) 13:48, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- The signature you was was my Valentines Day signature. It's pink. The colors in the paranthesis are what the key is referring to. Since I am not allowed to transclude, I substitute. You can see my current status at the time I write. When you go to my page, you see my live status on the top of this page.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 517,858,607) 14:45, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Toolserver
Is there somewhere that you can find a list of all the different tools you can use to get reports like the edit counter or the tool to check number of hits a page receives.Edinburgh Wanderer 20:06, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not that experienced with toolserver. Ask User:28bytes, User:Anomie, User:TParis or any toolserver operator. They may give you a better answer. For now, I'm just lying in bed recovering from my sickness I got yesterday afternoon.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 518,136,392) 21:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- if you mean real sickness then i hope you feel better if you mean about above wouldn't take it personally. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:32, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Rollback
I've had my ass handed to me over and over about this, so I will tell you this now. Rollback is only meant for vandalism, or doing several reverts in succession and then explaining it to the person you rolled back. My edits to List of Pokémon: Black & White: Rival Destinies episodes did not constitute vandalsim.—Ryulong (竜龙) 21:40, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- I know that. That was an accidental click and wanted to revert but you already beat me to it.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 518,142,811) 21:44, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, yes ... rollback is for WP:VAND only - if you use it somewhere else, it can and will be quickly taken away :-) Be careful, please! (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 21:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
