You closed [[China as an emerging superpower]] with a 50-50 split in the votes, and discounted keep votes (including mine, which specified a clear rationale) at will so that you could justify deletion. This is outrageous. [[User:Everyking|Everyking]] 07:01, 7 February 2007 (UTC) |

Re: BetaCommand
I don't think he did it on purpose: He removed protection from unprotected user pages too. Might be AWB or something in that vein. User:Logical2uTalk 22:54, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Too slow for AWB, anyways I think that when a page is unprotected, the talk page also gets unprotected, if it was, but it still gets the message, somekind of wikimedia bug I guess. Jaranda wat's sup 22:57, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Saul Kaiserman - undelete request
I noticed that
you were the editor who deleted 'Saul Kaiserman'. I'd ask that you undelete that bio/article. In support of my request, and in response to the criticisms made of the bio/article's noteworthiness, I am attaching some of my notes and relevant links below.
Saul Kaiserman is a recognized leader in the field of Jewish education, and an opinion leader in the scholarship re: birkat hamazon
Kaiserman's thesis was reprinted on an independent website: www.lookstein.org/resources/birkat_hamazon.pdf
Below is a link curriculum written based upon ideas gleaned from Kaiserman's writings on birkat. http://www.lookstein.org/lessonplans_output.php?id=-1721873
He was an invited/featured speaker at the Limmud 2007 conference on birkat and other topics in education: apps.limmudny.org/lny_2007/limmud_pub_schedule/schedule_v1.pl?op=p&id=409-10k-
On the subject of eating disorders: http://www.atid.org/resources/eating.asp
Of course, there's also the self-published scholarship: http://newjewisheducation.blogspot.com/search/label/environment
On other topics: http://www.shma.com/nov_06/consumers_producers.htm
http://www.bjeny.org/pdf/shabbatTable/AST/AST-Beshallach-2006.pdf
And he has influenced other scholars: http://urj.org/_kd/Items/actions.cfm?action=Show&item_id=3503&destination=ShowItem
Thanks for your attention to this matter. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this subject, or want further information to use in re-evaluating the bio/article.
Best regards,
Devin

999 recently received a short block for harassing Mattisse (block log). "Coincidentally", during this block period, someone created an account Plastic Leprechaun and made an intentional "error" on their second edit to their user page diff attempting to implicate Mattisse in sock-puppetry. They then created and redirected an entry called Plastic Paddyism to Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism, I'm assuming to insult editors who were involved in the Plastic PaddyAfD and the editors involved in the current Starwood Arb where 999 made the comment which got him /her blocked.
"Coincidentally" 999 is the editor who nominated Plastic Paddy for AfD.
I suspect Plastic Leprechaun is a sock puppet of 999 or one of the other parties involved. - WeniWidiWiki 21:13, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- I cross posted this to hopefully get a checkuser here, in case you are out of the office. - WeniWidiWiki 21:26, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- I blocked Plastic indef, i'll wait for the checkuser results to block 999 longer. Jaranda wat's sup 21:32, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you, for being so prompt. Very aggravating situation. - WeniWidiWiki 21:36, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of XTRAREWARDS
May i ask you why was the article on XTRAREWARDS deleted? It is not a spam, just like the nectar Loyalty Card (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nectar_loyalty_card), it is a petro - loyalty scheme which is based in India and founded by a FORTUNE 500 company ( Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.)
Plz respond.
They way u were fast in deleting, show same response in replying also! tht wud b great—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vijay.poonia (talk • contribs) 06:48, 25 January 2007 (UTC).
Even if it's not spam, it's a recently released rewards program that isn't really notable. Won't survive an WP:AFD Jaranda wat's sup 07:06, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. If being recent or old is a criteria thn i can add about XTRAPOWER which is a FLeet Card Program running for last 4 years with 1 million customers in India. Asking u beforehand so that my efforts at writing it dont go waste once it is deleted. Shall i ?????--Vijay.poonia 07:15, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
If you want do, as for the rewards article, just merge it with the indian oil article, i can restore it and you can place the info there, then I turn it into a redirect, but I'm going to sleep now. Jaranda wat's sup 07:17, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Ya thats a good idea i guess. Plz restore the article and i will merge it with the Indian Oil article, and on "XTRAREWARDS" search on wikipedia redirect it to Indian Oil Article (IOCL). Thank a lot..have a nice sleep !!!--Vijay.poonia 07:27, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Is there some reason the Jason Beam article was deleted again? I've been working with the Admin RHawarth to make sure that the proper content gets posted in it. The last communication (yesterday) in the page was that I was asking the admin if the content I have would be appropriate. I had not heard back from her by today, and noticed that the page was deleted. Please advise --Clean391 00:00, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Dannii Minogue article
Hello. I recently nominated the Dannii Minogue article for FA status. I was wondering if you would be willing to read over the article, correcting its grammar, prose, etc. Thank you very much. -- Underneath-it-All 21:14, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
My userpage
I would prefer my userpage not be protected, because:
- I want my page open to everyone to edit, in the wiki spirit ;-)
- All those IPs are open proxies, and this makes them easy to find. Blocks away!

Hi, you have deleted this image: [1], but the same image with the same wrong license re-appeared again in Image:SorayaTarziFace.jpg. Just to let you know. — Indon (reply) — 09:27, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- And perhaps you should also look the uploader's contributions in the image namespace. All images (s)he uploaded were tagged as PD-self, but they weren't. — Indon (reply) — 09:29, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I've been working with the Admin RHawarth to make sure that the proper content gets posted to the Jason Beam page, and am awaiting a reply to my last query. The last communication (1/25) in the page was that I was asking the admin if the content I have would be appropriate. There are several communications back and forth regarding the information in the article with RHawath I had not heard back from her by today, and noticed that the page was deleted. BOT - Regarding your recent protection of Stephen Colbert (character):
You recently protected[2] this page but did not give a protection summary. If this is an actual (not deleted) article, talk, or project page, make sure that it is listed on WP:PP. VoABot will automatically list such protected pages only if there is a summary. Do not remove this notice until a day or so, otherwise it may get reposted. Thanks. VoABot 05:01, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
You missed that redlink to 'dirrty realism' before protection. :) Carson 06:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Block of User:PopeofPeru
You had forgot to notify the user s/he had been blocked, I went ahead and added the template on the userpage. Somitho 07:21, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, this user who you indeffed earlier today, has earned himself the dubious fame of being the first Colbert commodity vandal, but he's also an established account with at least a few previous constructive edits and no history of vandalism, so I've unblocked him (on "not punitive", and according to the "ask questions later" part of the "shoot first..." principle). Hope you don't mind. Fut.Perf. ☼ 08:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey!
Hi, Jaranda! I noticed that you protected the Super Bowl XLI page. I think another admin W.marsh is watching it. I hope you are staying safe in Miami -- with all of that revelry going down there :-) Maybe you can upload some pics of Superbowl stadium after the game (if you don't mind). Could you undelete List of The Buzz on Maggie episodes? I'll remove all the text so that it isn't a copy vio of TV.com. Thanks, Peregrine Fisher 23:52, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Meh, I'm feeling like it's time to go. We had a chat about you nominating me for adminship a while back - I reckon I'd like to give it a shot. Do you still feel like you'd like to write up a nomination for me? Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 18:42, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
My RfA
Hey Jaranda,
I just would like to thank you for your support in my recent request for adminship, which passed with a final tally of 54/13/11. I appreciate the trust expressed by members of the community, and will do my best to uphold it.
Naturally, I am still becoming accustomed to using the new tools, so if you have suggestions or feedback, or need anything please let me know. - Gilliam 20:44, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Wikiproject Deletion
You recently joined WP:SCISSORS. As an admin, and one the community has trust and faith in, I would appreciate it if you would ensure we (as a Wikiproject in our actions) are acting in the best interpretation of policies related to deletion. I know there are some people who seem to think we're the Deletionist Cabal (since so many members ARE deletionists) but I'm more concerned with making sure it's done right than just deleting things, and your oversight would be welcome. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 22:39, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- And thanks for the nomination. Now, fingers crossed :) Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 09:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

It's a misunderstanding of DRV's purpose to insist that any reversals of deletion require recourse to DRV. Slam dunks and clear-cut cases do not, and as Jimbo has previously said, this is a clear cut case where the consensus of AfD, should it opt to delete, is flat-out wrong. Phil Sandifer 01:02, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have further elaborated my reasoning as to why this is not a circumstance for review on both DRV and AN. Phil Sandifer 01:33, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
