Support for Alex Simpson (attorney) article
I'd like to say thank you for voting to "Keep" the article I created about Alex Simpson, the attorney for the California Innocence Project, when it was (successfully, alas) proposed for deletion. I thought your points were well taken, but these were completely ignored by the other volunteer editors, which I thought not very respectful. They were not very respectful to me, either
In case you want to see it, the history of the discussion for the proposed deletion of this article can be found here. Dylanexpert (talk) 22:46, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
Dylanexpert I c. It is very disheartening to go through an AFD. I hope you keep writing articles. I am sorry it got deleted. Lubbad85 (☎) 23:03, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Interesting article, well done! I reworded some of the text as it was a bit too close to the published test and was giving a copyvio warning. All good now though, keep up the good work!

~Kvng (talk) 13:42, 26 April 2019 (UTC)We have done a 5X expansion. I intend to submit a WP:DYK. I will include all the contributors. Any suggestions for a hook? 7&6=thirteen (☎) 11:33, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
- Good morning! Good idea - Notable pre internet celebrity. I am not sure as I have never been involved in this project. Lubbad85 (☎) 13:20, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
- User:7&6=thirteen Also it Seems to me that BLP claims are inappropriately used on the afd - threats to exceed 3RR etc. It is actually defined as bullying to WP:CRYCRYBLP Lubbad85 (☎) 14:54, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
- WP:BLP is the ubiquitous go to in WP:AFD discussions. They will read it to mean what they want it to mean. At best, it is an ambiguous recitation of aspirations, not a clearly delineated policy. It's a guide, but it often can be (and is) weaponized. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 15:08, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Christopher Kaelin
Hi, I basically went after the usual criteria in WP:PROF and didn't directly see those satisfied. What I see so far is one article in which Kaelin was a co-author (the press release does not describe him as the principal investigator as well) and one first-author article in Science. The criterion, as elaborated in WP:PROF, is supposed to be similar to the criteria according to which a university would offer him tenure; I don't think that what is linked in the article so far would qualify. Markus Pössel (talk) 15:34, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Markus Pössel, thank you for the opinion and guidance. I am adding secondary sources. Will work to improve the article. I believe these criteria apply.
- The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
- The person has had a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity. Lubbad85 (☎) 15:41, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
