Welcome to my talk page!
Please place new messages at the bottom of this page, or to start a new discussion, which will automatically be at the bottom. I will respond to comments here, unless there's a better place for them. Please read the following helpful hints before posting:
- Wikipedia is a volunteer curated encyclopedia. That means it is not a social networking site, a place for self-promotion, a marketing medium or a free web host. You are expected to be familiar with the goals of this project before you post here.
- Think. Use common sense. Read this before posting; failure to do so may result in your posts being ignored or mocked.
- If you wish to discuss your link additions, I advise you to be read our conflict of interest and spam policies before posting. These pages contain information about the appropriateness of link additions.
- I prefer to be contacted here (as opposed to email) where possible. You're much more likely to get a prompt response.

- Off-wiki evidence of undisclosed paid editing must not be posted here. These, and complex cases of paid editing will not be acted upon. In both cases, please email paid-en-wp wikipedia dot org.
Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi MER-C/archives.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
Deletion review for Bahram Tavakoli
92.73.29.215 has asked for a deletion review of Bahram Tavakoli. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. —Cryptic 01:11, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
New Page Reviewer - RfC

Heads up
You have a reputation on being able to sniff out spam and of course we don't want spam in the encyclopedia. On the talk page of the article Incontinence, there was a template located at the top of the talk page that announced that a copyvio did not exist even though it might appear to be taken from another source. When I clicked on the link that was supposed to take me to the page where the content was supposed to NOT be a copyvio, instead I was taken to a commercial site selling incontinent supplies. Now you know. I removed it and I certainly won't believe those templates any more. Best Regards,
- Barbara (WVS) (talk) 12:51, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Barbara, according to the talk page discussion, it was a backwards copy in 2012, see Special:Diff/510445639. — JJMC89 (T·C) 22:49, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- It's an interesting social engineering technique. I've seen copyvios from spam websites before (complete with the spam), but I don't think this has been exploited deliberately. MER-C 08:41, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Article by (I'm guessing) a paid sock
I just stumbled across Ready Pac Foods, which was created by an editor you blocked; the block message refers to deleted contributions of Sonywaga1, to which, as a mere Wikimortal, I don't have access.
My question: Is there some kind of centralized list, discussion area, etc. regarding review/deletion of articles by this sockfarm? The (terrible) article is probably AFD-worthy for non-notability of the subject company, but before I nominate it, I wanted to make sure I wasn't stepping on some existing mechanism specific to Sonywaga1 articles. Much obliged--thanks! - Julietdeltalima (talk) 21:53, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
- At the time I looked, there were only two accounts and the disgustingly promotional draft Draft:E-Tabletop. (Sonywaga1 reposted the content I deleted the first time around.) There seems to be more than this than that, I wouldn't be surprised that 89 Buckeye, Jhonnybonzala1 and Donzack1 were involved as well.
- As for the AFD nomination, go ahead -- I agree that it is necessary. There is no central cleanup effort, I just noticed a "coincidence" when doing my daily rounds and acted accordingly. MER-C 04:43, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Kosta (konstantin) Peric, the person for which the Wikipedia entry was deleted on Dec 31, 2016. It seems that the reason for deletion was that the page was created by a banned user. However, the page was up since November 2016 and was succcesfully reviewed. I'm not aware of any banned person contributing to the article. It would be great if you could double check the deletion and the reason. Thank you very much — Preceding unsigned comment added by Copernicc (talk • contribs) 17:54, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
- The deletion was absolutely correct, and I explicitly refuse to undo it. The creator was one of many accounts operated by someone suspected of engaging in undisclosed paid advocacy, in complete disregard for the purpose of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a volunteer curated encyclopedia hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization. Both the WMF and the Wikipedia community strongly disapprove of the abuse of our resources for promotional, marketing or PR purposes, especially the commission of promotional "articles" in exchange for undisclosed payments. Creating a page for Paul Massey
Hi,
Hope all's well. I've been wondering - is there any way of configuring recent changes so it shows pages on which new accounts have overlapped? This would be extraordinarily helpful for hunting spammers.
Thanks,
GABgab 01:01, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- Not really. One could try fetching recent changes from the API, grouping by article title and eliminating non-autoconfirmed users, but it's going to be slow, limited to the last day or so and prone to false positives (think current affairs and TFA). MER-C 05:05, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Creating New Pages Help
I have recently created a page which was deleted . The page regarding KRChoksey investment managers pvt ltd. I copied the content from the website. Its not a promotional but an information regarding the company. How can I do that? Shall I write the whole original content. Please help. I am not trying ti spam nor promotional however trying to help to create more info.
I am not aware of all the rules, so please help me so that I can be a good contributor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sadhakm (talk • contribs) 03:54, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- This goes well beyond not knowing what the rules are... your edits directly repudiate the purpose of Wikipedia. In particular if you think a company's "about us" page -- this one containing the text "With an impressive track record in terms of services to its broad clientele", among other buzzwords -- is somehow not meant to promote and paint said company in the best light possible, you shouldn't be editing Wikipedia. Hi. I was wondering if there is any way to improve upon the previous submission for Paul Massey or go about creating a page him in a different way. I'm a little unfamiliar with Wikipedia.
Af398 (talk) 00:56, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- No. The page was deleted because it was determined to be unsalvageable -- you have been told five times (now six) that the subject does not meet our inclusion criteria for biographies. If you recreate that page, I will revoke your editing privileges for disruptive editing and misusing Wikipedia for promotional purposes. MER-C 02:02, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
RfC on "No paid editing for Admins" at WT:COI
I've relisted an RfC that was run at WT:Admin in Sept. 2015. It is at Wikipedia talk:Conflict of interest#Concrete proposal 3 as there are a number of similar proposals going on at the same place. Better to keep them together. Smallbones(smalltalk) 04:50, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
Deletion review for Thomas Rome
I note that on 17 January 2017, the page Thomas Rome was deleted. I know next to nothing about Wikipedia, so you'll forgive me if I'm out of my depth here, but Thomas is a friend of mine who has represented various acclaimed musicians throughout the years. I'd like for the old page to be reinstated. Is there anything you can do to help on this matter?
Thanks, Bds92 (talk) 17:53, 21 February 2017 (UTC) Brian
- That page was deleted because we believe its creator was sabotaging the integrity of the encyclopedia for financial gain, and thus I'm not undeleting it. I suggest getting feedback at articles for creation, in the current form that draft wouldn't survive long as an article. Bear in mind the answer could be "no, it's unfixable". You may wish to revoke talk page access as well.--Cahk (talk) 10:06, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

- Are they asking for an unblock? My advice would be to post on the talk page stating essentially "follow the instructions in the red box". FYI, I do not consider unblock requests made via email. MER-C 12:30, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for advice- no, not an unblock request, thhe emails were sent between the nomination and the deletion. I suppose it's not outing to just put the body of the texT without heasers and footers etc. O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 12:35, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- I usually respond to all emails that don't require privacy on the talk page. I can't remember receiving an email from someone I've revoked talk page access to -- if you're able to answer their query then be very careful to use Special:Emailuser instead of directly replying. I advise against posting emails on-wiki -- it is, strictly speaking, a copyvio. You could summarize the contents here if you need my help in responding. MER-C 13:25, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi, deletion of Food Future Inc?
Hi there! I was notified that in Jan. 2017 you deleted the page Food Future Inc? Blacklist question
Wikimedia received an email at OTRS regarding the blacklisting of womanitely.com.
I don't do much work with the blacklist but if I'm reading correctly you added it
here
Am I reading correctly that you are the one who added it? Can you tell me a little about it so I can either pass information on to the person inquiring or should I ask them to reach out and have a discussion with you?--S Philbrick(Talk) 20:42, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- I made the blacklisting request. m:User:COIBot/LinkReports/womanitely.com and m:User:COIBot/LinkReports/amerikanki.com give the diffs of the spamming. It's a blog that has been aggressively spammed cross-wiki. MER-C 00:15, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
How to remove the website from the blacklist
We recently found out that our blog Womanitely (womanitely.com) got blacklisted by Wikipedia and we're writing in hope of being removed from your Blacklist. We don't know a reason but we suppose it happened because someone - whether intentionally or unintentionally - added the links to some articles of our blog to Wikipedia, without asking for our permission.
Womanitely is a relatively young blog with a great purpose to help women overcome life obstacles, improve their health and upgrade their lifestyles. We are trying to spread a word and help as many people as possible. We have no intention of spamming.
Could you please let us know what we should do to be removed from the blacklist? Catalina520 (talk) 18:45, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- >We are trying to spread a word
- Wikipedia, being an encyclopedia, is not the place for that.
- As for removal, you can try making one at m:Talk:Spam blacklist. I don't expect it to be granted; it is standard practice to decline removal requests from people associated with the relevant website because our experience demonstrates a significant portion are dishonest. Deletion of pages CarryMinati and Draft:CarryMinati
With due respect I beg to state that I had created an draft article for CarryMinati as it was protected from creation, the original page was deleted because of A7. But you had also deleted the draft article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:CarryMinati) as it was the recreation of draft article which was deleted (G4). So, I want you to look into the case and also make the main article available for creation (CarryMinati).
