You are receiving this notice because you recently edited one or more pages relating to blockchain or cryptocurrencies topics. You have not done anything wrong. We just want to alert you that "general" sanctions are authorized for certain types of edits to those pages. |

A community decision has authorized the use of general sanctions for pages related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here. |

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after the editor has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. When you make a redirect you need to check and see where it's going. In this case it went to Robbie Shakespeare which is also a redirect. That makes a double redirect and they don't work. So you need to create the redirect to point to Sly and Robbie. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:07, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
thanks!

Birthdate?
I'm assuming you mean my birthdate when you say "birth". I like to keep my user page short and relevant to Wikipedia, it's about my contributions, not me. I'm also a little bit worried about crazy people who like to stalk administrators :) -Obli (Talk)? 22:16, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

why not add your birth date to your userpage? --Ysangkok 08:41, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

NowCommons
Just notifying you that the Image:Antonow An-2 COLT.png that you have marked with nowcommons didn't exist on Wikipedia. In fact, you have created its description page. This is not what the template is for. Also, NowCommonsThis should be used when the names are the same. Conscious 10:40, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for redrawing one of my graphs! Could you tell me how you did it? Have you used the original file or have you re-created it from scratch? My orbit svg are (a poor) by-product of my program and I never got around to improve the svg generated. Given the number of existing (and to be) graphs I would like, with your permission, to include this transformation in future graphs if feasible. Eurocommuter 17:40, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. Well, it is an excellent hand-work!
- If you’re interested, I explained partly the reasons why it is such a bad svg (1 pixel line for orbits) on my page on commons in answer to another puzzled editor. I will try Bezier or direct elliptical best-fit approximation but by writing a transformer. There’s also Batik from (a Java2D->SVG generator) I haven’t tried but I’m afraid the results will also as bad given the complexity of the 3D orbit, the complexity people do not realise immediately (spheres partly hiding or being hidden by the orbits for example).
- I believe that resulting SVG should be transformed by collapsing multiple <line> elements into elliptic arcs, programmatically, using approximation. To a large extend it is a wasted effort anyway, as currently wikipedia transforms svg->png (so the user will not see the scaling benefits of svg) not to mention their limited svg implementation: no links, no animation, no colour gradient on arbitrary paths,…).
- Thanks and see you around Eurocommuter 22:21, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

You tagged this image for deleteion, even though i've labeled it as GFDL. You also added welcome text to my talk page, even though i've been registered over a year longer than you, I assume this is because you are using some sort of bot, so I'm just letting you know that this was a mistake, in case you want to correct your scripts. Thanks! -- taviso 22:27, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- GFDL-Self tag has only existed since 2005, the image you're complaining that I tagged incorrectly was uploaded in 2004, so reading your welcome message wouldnt have helped much. I'm not sure why you're being so rude about it, but whatever, i've changed it. -- taviso 21:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm not the uploader, but it puzzles me why you added the "no source" tag when there's a license on it ("cc-by"). And while I can't guarantee the fact that Whitesanjuro created it, it looks pretty likely. — CJewell (talk to me) 12:15, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Hello - I was just browsing my user page and noticed that User:Ysangkok gave me a copypasta welcome and notification of deleting my image. When I uploaded the image, I'm almost certain I freed it into the public domain, as it was a picture that I took and uploaded myself (e.g. I own the copyright). The only difference between the image that was deleted and the source image is that I cropped the version I uploaded. I think it would be nice to have a non-YDL image back in the PS3 Linux article, since that picture is just a splash screen and doesn't even lead one to believe that the display showing it is connected to a PS3. I don't have the authority to un-delete the image, so I am requesting that whoever deleted it restore it if possible or allow me re-upload it. Please advise Whitesanjuro 01:36, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
SmackBot and puctuation
Yes, it moves superscripted refs to after the punctuation. This article used them in a different way, as if they were in line text, which didn't work. Fixed up now I believe. Rich Farmbrough, 23:35 24 March 2007 (GMT).
Deletion
Hi! I just noticed that you put a deletion tag on Image:Beryl wobbly.png. This is a screenshot I took of Beryl's "Wobbly Windows" and made this content myself. It's currently being used on the Beryl page. I have no idea why you tagged this with a deletion. Could someone please tell me why????

Oh, it was easy. :) I did indeed use The GIMP, and I simply used the drop-shadow effect in the Script-Fu menu. I think that's all you do — although I haven't done it in a while, so there may be one or two minor steps in between. Anyway, it's really easy. C (programming language) source highlighting
Hi, the consensus, as established on the talk page after I made the same change, was to stick to pre tags rather than source highlighting as the source highlighting was felt to be ugly and somewhat hapharzardly thought-out. Can you help me to modify Wavelength.svg to Chinese version and upload it to wiki commons as Wavelength-zh.svg? I tried to do the edit, but the file resulted is not visible. I am not sure about the problem, but this is not the first time for such problem to appear. :-( -- Tomchiukc 04:53, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Tomchiukc. I have updated the image Image:Wavelength-zh.svg. I don't know if you are technical, but what I did is that I converted the file from the Big5 character set to UTF-8. The image shows now but I do not know if the labels make sense. Maybe I just made it show some random characters :P. I also added the license (GFDL). When I made the original SVG image I copied the main layout from another image. This image was licensed under the GFDL. This forces me to also license my version under it. And it also forces you to use it. Thanks for understanding :D. --Ysangkok 19:16, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- It works now! I have not thought about that it was the problem. Thanks a lot! :-D --Tomchiukc 19:19, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Redirect of Mercury (IM client)
![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/35/Information_icon.svg/62px-Information_icon.svg.png)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mercury (IM client), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mercury (IM client) is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mercury (IM client), please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. I have nominated Noatun (media player), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noatun (media player). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Rollback
I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. The article doesnt have any references saying anyone considers the site to be porn. Cite a reputable source in which a notable, relevant person or organization says they consider the site to be pornographic, then re-add the Pornproject banner. Or if you cant be bothered, dont bother. By the way, if youre danish and interested in porn, fancy finding some danish-language reputable sources to extend the Color Climax article? I have improved it as much as I can with all notable english-language sources. Willy turner (talk) 16:32, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Please could you check the following file File:ESCUnitedKingdomJ.svg. The file itself, which is used for Eurovision Scoreboards; doesn't have the same style as the others. All the others just show the name of the country; whereas the UK one has no writing on it, but is shown as a RED BLOCK. As I'm British myself; I find this quite insulting; and I'm sure other British people viewing the page would feel the same. (Pr3st0n (talk) 01:17, 10 June 2009 (UTC))
Could you please explain further...
Could you please explain why you tried to Europeanize Abdul Razaq's name?
I know there have been some rogue robot assisted editing tools that incorrectly suggest shoehorning all names into the European naming style. I am trying to track down when individuals tried to Europeanize non-European names on their own initiative, and when they relied on the bad advice of rogue bots.
If you relied on a bad bot, I would appeciate knowing which bot that was.
If you relied on a bad bot is there any way you could estimate how many times you relied on it?
Thanks! Geo Swan (talk) 23:04, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. It is helpful to know you weren't helped by a bot. I am sorry the standards document doesn't warn that Arabic names shouldn't normally be Europeanized.
- FWIW, there are two parallel naming styles used with Arabic names. Neither one uses an inheritable lastname-surname. The more common style is more like "Eric the Red" and his son "Lief Ericson", where the individual's last name was their father's first name. Like Eric the red every generation has a different "last name". There are several further aspects that complicate Arabic names.
- English speaking people have a very rich name-space for personal names, after centuries of commerce, conquest, exploration, colonization. Without claiming to be an expert Arabic names are drawn from a very sparse name-space. So when individuals want to identify themselves unambiguously, they add various disambiguators that are not truly part of their name, like their tribe, their home town, their occupation, or a nickname.
- Unlike Chinese, where there are strict and unambigous transliteration schemes. The official Pinyin scheme is almost universally used for Chinese names. The famous Communist leader's name is transliterated as "Mao Zedong" in the Pinyin scheme. There is an English only scheme, called Wade-Giles, more or less abandoned now, where his name was transliterated as "Mao Tse Tung". Francophones had their own transliteration scheme for Chinese, equally unambiguous, as did other languages. I don't know why there is no scheme for Arabic But there isn't. It took me over a year to figure out that "Ahcene Zemiri" was the same person as "Hassan Zumiri".
- Even for the most senior members of the al Qaeda leadership the details of the Arabic naming scheme totally defeated the American Intelligence establishment. When Abu Laith Al Libi was killed by a predator drone, he was described as number three in Al Qaeda's leadership. Some reporters asked the DoD spokesmen whether they hadn't claimed that when Abu Faraj Al Libi was captured, that HE was number three in Al Qaeda's leadership. Most DoD spokesmen simply ignored this question, or acted as if one Al Libi had replaced the other. But it was very quietly acknowledged that they were mistaken the first time.
- Similarly, for years, this mugshot graced the US government's "rewards for justice" page for "Abu Khabub al-Masri". I didn't vist that page until the Bush administration claimed he had been killed by a missile fired from a predator drone. It took me less than a second to recognize that the picture was actually Abu Hamza Al Masri, prior to his disfiguring injuries. About a week after the reports of Abu Khabub al-Masri the Bush administration stopped claiming the picture was Abu Khabub al-Masri.
Cranial Nerves Picture
Hello! And Good day, I was just wondering if it would be possible to create a new version of this image: File:Brain_human_normal_inferior_view.svg which you have done a very good version of editing in the past!
At the moment it seems to just look pretty but it could be a lot more useful, would it be possible to label the cranial nerves and the midbrain/pons/medulla? File:Painter's algorithm.psp.bz2
I'm writing about your undeletion request for File:Painter's algorithm.psp.bz2. The image was speedy deleted based on Template:db-badfiletype, specifically "File format is unreadable proprietary binary file". Your undeletion request says "no reason", but there was a reason for this deletion. Would you care to comment further. If you want a copy of the file to convert to SVG or something useable, I'd gladly temporarily undelete it for you, or if you have an argument for keeping the image, I'd be glad to hear that as well. But as it stands, the speedy deletion seems valid, and I don't see a need to recreate the file. Thanks. -Andrew c [talk] 22:43, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:EricCartman1.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 20:45, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
CSD Declined: Cheaper by the Dozen 3
I declined the speedy deletion of Cheaper by the Dozen 3 as it did not meet the criteria of CSD:G1. According to the criteria for speedy deletions, G1 states Pages consisting entirely of incoherent text or gibberish with no meaningful content or history. This excludes poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, implausible theories, vandalism and hoaxes, fictional material, coherent non-English material, and poorly translated material. As the page was not poorly written, it cannot be deleted for that reason.
Looking further at the deleted versions (page has been created a few times), it has been deleted (through AFD) as there are lack of sources as to existence, but as that implies a hoax or WP:CRYSTAL, that would make it a candidate for another AFD, not speedy deletion. Also the page has been significantly expanded on from the original versions (which I realise that only admins can view), it is not a candidate for G4 (A sufficiently identical and unimproved copy, having any title, of a page deleted via a deletion discussion. This excludes articles that are not substantially identical to the deleted version, articles that address the reasons for which the material was deleted, and Content moved to user space for explicit improvement. NowCommons: File:JIS.svg
File:JIS.svg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:JIS.svg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: . Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 05:34, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
The image you added doesn't appear to be ASCII at all? Compare http://www.asciipr0n.com/pr0n/pinups/pinup00.txt Шизомби (talk) 05:39, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Sure the characters in the image cannot be made with purely ASCII characters. But a colour picture looks better, and scales much better than a screendump of a pure ASCII black on white image would. Anyway I think ANSI and ASCII pron belong in the same article, as they are closely related. I think it illustrates ANSI pron quite well. Maybe if we splitted ANSI and ASCII pron in two articles we should move this image to the other article, but now that we only have one I think this picture should remain as it is a good illustration of ANSI pron (as I formerly stated). Maybe we should create the other article? I am not sure whether it is notable though. --Ysangkok (talk) 11:43, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
WikiProject Java assessments
Can you take a look at this regarding your request on AWB? Thanks. ZooFari 01:39, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- On his talk page, ZooFari said recently: 'I was requested, from a member of the WikiProject, that all pages recursively under Java platform would be maintained by the WikiProject Java'. We're a bit mixed up by this. We know that the last days prompted us at WikiProject Java to do all sorts of edits here and there in the aim of putting together this project (and Portal). We also know that we have not a lot of experience in those things so don't be put up by this question. However, we do not remember having asked somebody (or a Bot) to do this massive tagging. So I would ask you to clarify things a bit regarding your status:
- Are you a Bot or a regular user?
- In the latter case, did somebody from the project convey that request to you?
- Or maybe, you ARE a member of the project, but operating under a second account?
- If you are not already a member of the project, we ARE in fact in search of dynamic people to build the team up, but would appreciate that you put your moniker in the list along with other members.
- I think that most WikiProjects would have appreciated that a planning and then a trace of such an important intervention be IN the project, in that case here. Thanks,
-- Alain R 3 4 5
Techno-Wiki-Geek 23:13, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- I am a regular user (note no bot flag and no bot request). I asked for the tagging on my own initiative. I am not a member of any projects. Sorry for the inconvenience. --Ysangkok (talk) 00:14, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello, Ysangkok. Thanks for giving me welcome. I didn't expected it, because it's been more than one year since I created my account in wikipedia, and I used to correct errors in articles, translate them o creating links, and categories. But last months I have created some articles and categories -I supponse it's that why you have welcomed me to Wikipedia-. I 'll try to be careful with the articles I create. But I use userboxes in my user page :) Rodamaker (talk) 22:34, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.
For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:42, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Sas flight 751 crash.jpg
![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/cf/Copyright-problem.svg/64px-Copyright-problem.svg.png)
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Sas flight 751 crash.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Re; Shooting of Gustloff: overnight hair colour change
This source is working, David Frankfurter. About hair going gray overnight, I can say that there is plenty of professional literature about that topic, saying it is possible. From my experience, during Croatian War of Independence, I personally testified when my fellow comrade hair turned gray in 24-48 hours, due to enormous fear and stress he sustained while on the first line of battlefield. Of course, not all his hair turned gray, but a substantial part of it did, about 50%. From there the expression; going gray overnight.--Eversman (talk) 18:25, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

The article History of FlightGear has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This game's history is not notable enough to warrant its own encyclopedia article. It's treated as a log and has no significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject such to build this concept into an article. Consider merging the highlights of these changes into the history section of the main article.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. czar · · 08:09, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:007TMWTGG.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Bad Actions (against WP:NPA) a Long Time Ago
Hi,
You welcomed me at Wikipedia. So I bring this issue to you.
In the first days of myself in Wikipedia, I was an unstable kid (2007 meant I'm only 11 years old) and read magazine (if I don't wrongly remember, the magazine is available in my school's library) Suara Hidayatullah that talks, a highly conspiracy-ridden one about United States Government who modifies Wikipedia to their own benefit. Therefore I wrote this [1].
Now, I try to routinely and actively edit Wikipedia, as sane and wisely as I could, but I cannot get myself over this. I felt that I've done something wrong at Wikipedia, and no amount of rule-researching helps.
Shall I do something to remedy my actions?
Thanks for your suggestion,

Differences between software libraries and search engines
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added ElasticSearch, Solr and Sphinx to the List of information retrieval libraries. Unfortunately I think thus search engines are not software libraries, but stand-alone search engine servers. They may very well contain some libraries for interacting with their servers, but that don’t make them an information retrieval library.
Lemur, Lucene and Xapian on the other hand are code that can be included into a program, without hawing a stand alone server.
Do you see the difference, or should I try to explain it further? (You may also want to read up on the concept of Library (computing) and Linker (computing) )Runarb (talk) 11:43, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Why isn't a web service a library? The library article linked mentions RPC. I'd call HTTP RPC. I don't think the term "information retrieval library" is clearly defined, so there is no way to settle this. --Ysangkok (talk) 12:13, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Dos ElasticSearch, Solr and Sphinx have any special RPC functions, or do you consider all search engines that can output XML or JSON to be information retrieval libraries? If it is the later, shouldn't most search engines listed on List of enterprise search vendors also be added?
- I especially made the List of information retrieval libraries because I consider information retrieval libraries and a search engines to be two separate things, eave if the search engine can output XML. Runarb (talk) 12:50, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

First of all, you are an experienced editor and know better than to use a loaded section heading. It's a sly attempt to attack the person's integrity instead of critiquing on what they wrote. Second, your title is "Your unsourced dubious claims" yet you presented the source that I used. Misleading and self-contradiction much? Third, I'm citing the article's byline which says exactly "SAS is accused of cutting corners for maintenance". Moreover, I used the word "accused of cutting corners", not "found to be cutting corners". This matches exactly what the news report which said "Although the CAA could not offer a comment on the weekend’s accident do to the ongoing investigation, Thomas Ancker, the agency’s press spokesperson noted the airline had demonstrated ‘serious oversights’ during maintenance" (underline by myself). Fourth, your claim that "the criticism Swedish authorities raised (it is not sure if it is the CAA) was related to engine thrust reduction, not gear problems"
was incorrect. The article was written September 10, 2007 for the crash on September 9. The engine thrust incident was referred to an earlier incident, as the news website wrote (on September 10) "Only two weeks ago, Swedish authorities had levelled a scathing critique at the airline after a plane of the same model nearly crashed because the its motor accelerated unexpectedly during landing." How would the Swedish authorities write a crash report two weeks before the crash actually happened?
If you have suggestions on how to improve the article or revise that part based on new information available now (as opposed to 2007 when I wrote it), fix it yourself. Your approach of fixing an article by inventing made-up claims and dragging an editor through mud is certainly a wrong approach. OhanaUnitedTalk page 02:34, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Signpost exit poll
Dear Wikipedian, you recently voted in the ArbCom election. Your username, along with around 155 other usernames of your fellow Wikipedians, was randomly selected from the 2000+ Wikipedians who voted this year, with the help of one of the election-commissioners. If you are willing, could you please participate (at your option either on-wiki via userspace or off-wiki via email) in an exit poll, and answer some questions about how you decided amongst the ArbCom candidates?
If you decide to participate in this exit poll, the statistical results will be published in the Signpost, an online newspaper with over 1000 Wikipedians among the readership. There are about twelve questions, which have alphanumerical answers; it should take you a few minutes to complete the exit poll questionnaire, and will help improve Wikipedia by giving future candidates information about what you think is important. This is only an unofficial survey, and will have no impact on your actual vote during this election, nor in any future election.
All questions are individually optional, and this entire exit poll itself is also entirely optional, though if you choose not to participate, I would appreciate a brief reply indicating why you decided not to take part (see Question Zero). Thanks for being a Wikipedian
The questionnaire
Dear Wikipedian, please fill out these questions -- at your option via usertalk or via email, see Detailed Instructions at the end of the twelve questions -- by putting the appropriate answer in the blanks provided. If you decide not to answer a question (all questions are optional), please put the reason down: "undecided" / "private information" / "prefer not to answer" / "question is not well-posed" / "other: please specify". Although the Signpost cannot guarantee that complex answers can be processed for publication, it will help us improve future exit polls, if you give us comments about why you could not answer specific questions.

ce tags
Hi Ysangkok,
I saw you used <ce> tags on the hydrogen chloride page. I am unfamiliar with them and I am writing chemistry oriented pages for the af.wiki. The tags do seem to work there, so I'd like to know more about the syntax. Could you tell me where to find that info?
Thanks in advance Jcwf (talk) 02:38, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Jcwf: Help:Displaying a formula#Chemistry, also available on the Meta WikiMedia wiki. Where did you look, maybe we should insert more pointers. --Ysangkok (talk) 08:27, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Groovy (programming language), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jenkins. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Deletion proposal
Please start a discussion on your proposal for the deletion of Human chain against nuclear plant in Turkey. Thanks Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 17:57, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- What do you mean? I have prodded the article, and given the statement that I do not think the notability is established. We are talking about a human chain that did not break records. This does not warrant its own article. There have been a lot of bigger protests in Turkey since 2011, many of them do not have articles, and should not. --Ysangkok (talk) 19:07, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Your talk page is not a convinient place to discuss the isuue. So far I couldn't find anything on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Please inform me about the discussion. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 06:30, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Nedim Ardoğa:. Read the notice at the page again. The Wikipedia:PRODDING process is different from the AfD process. --Ysangkok (talk) 10:11, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

(BTW, I agree there should be a page there, but the redirect isn't accurate and I'm not sure what it would redirect to right now. Maybe something else bitcoin-related?)

Segwit/Segwit2x
I do understand your objection, but surely you can see that it's not possible to talk about the activation of Segwit without mentioning Segwit2x. Segwit was only activated due to the NYA, are we not allowed to mention this when talking about Segwit? I have started a section on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Bitcoin_scalability_problem trying to find a solution to this conundrum. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omcnoe (talk • contribs) 21:37, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Omcnoe: I don't think it is possible to prove why miners voted for BIP 91. It was not authored by anyone affiliated with Segwit2x, it was authored by James Hillard. From his Twitter, you can see that he opposes 2x (I know we can't cite this). Anyway, since we can't prove that miners who voted for BIP 91 wanted Segwit2x, we can't claim this. It would be synthesis. --Ysangkok (talk) 11:37, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the

Bitwise negation
Hi, replying to your question at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Trusktr#Bitwise_negation, it's just an alternative way to make an IIFE. I use it instead of wrapping the function in parens because I can avoid calling the previous line as a function and don't have to use a leading semi colon. Trusktr (talk) 23:54, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jim Jarmusch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Dead Don't Die (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Blockchain and cryptocurrency general sanctions notification
Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.
