The 2024–25 season of the Frauen-Regionalliga will be the 21st season of Germany's third-tier women's football league.
In the 2024–25 season only, the champions of all five leagues automatically earn a promotion to 2. Bundesliga. This is due to the expansion of Bundesliga to 14 teams beginning with the 2025–26 season.[1]
Tiebreakers for league ranking
The following criteria are applied (in order from top to bottom) to determine the order of the teams in the leagues:[2]
- The total number of points;
- Goal difference in all league matches;
- Number of goals scored in all league matches;
- Total number of points obtained in head-to-head matches;
- Number of away goals scored in head-to-head matches;
- Number of away goals scored in all league matches;
If two teams are still tied after all the above criteria are applied, a play-off match is held at a neutral ground to determine the order.

- ^ TUS Schwachhausen, the champion of Verbandsliga Bremen and SSC Hagen Ahrensburg, the champion of Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein both refused to participate in the promotion tournament. The promotion spot should have therefore been determined between Eimsbütteler TV, the champion of Oberliga Hamburg and Kieler MTV, the runner-up of Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein. As both SV Hastenbeck, the champion of Oberliga Niedersachsen Ost and TSG 07 Burg Gretesch, the chamption of Oberliga Niedersachsen West also refused promotion, however, both Eimsbütteler TV and Kieler MTV were promoted directly.
