Daniel Hunt Gilman, lawyer. Maine-born, Civil War vet, moved to Seattle in 1883, 2 years later became of key figure in obtaining investment for the Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway; several later involvements in railway financing. One of the two men the Burke-Gilman Trail is named after.
