Deleting Alex Keen...
Can you tell me more about the deletion of "vanity pages". I added my page just today because of I write for a prominent movie news site and I have been quoted in several prominent publications. This is in no way an attempt to promote myself, just some background info.
Alex
Hutman Artcars all commentary removed
I transformed commentary to simple material history which can in no way be linked to any particular author only sources with years as headdings.
introduction is simple definition third person

400,000 Faces article
Deer Leebo, Thanks so much for your attention and helpful suggestions! I am a little confused about the formatting issues and am learning as I go. I'm trying to make the article both as legitimate and correct as possible, and as a new user, everything is helpful. I have not heard back from Merope about whether or not the entry is ready to make it into Wikipedia proper or will be soon; are you a possibility for final review and submission of it? Let me know at your convenience, and thanks again for the (much-needed) help. Kln4yd 22:19, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks...
For helping out with the 400,000 Faces article and for being so good humored. :) I've been ill lately and am absolutely swamped at work. I should put the Wikibreak template back on my page, but I always end up coming back. Like right now, for instance. Anyway, thanks. ... and back to work. (Took the morning off so now I'm even further behind, whooooo.) -- Merope 20:19, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I didn't mind giving some suggestions on the 400,000 Faces article, because it was refreshing to encounter someone who responded rationally and constructively to the deletion of his or her article. And although I've only started recently, I am familiar with putting off work to come to Wikipedia... Leebo86 20:29, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Just noticed...
...where you are and work. I was in Hartford a few years back to do an installation of Siebel at a big ol' insurance company there. Actually, two of them. Nice town. I liked Hartford. Airport was a pain in the head, though. :-) Philippe Beaudette 21:27, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- It very well could have been the company where I work, but Hartford does have the title of "insurance capital of the world," so there are quite a few. I like Hartford, but I tend to stay around the suburbs more. I usually only venture into the city to watch the UConn Huskies. Regarding airports... I personally prefer flying out of Providence, RI's T.F. Green. Leebo86 21:41, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

SibNet
Hi Lee -
I realize SibNet might come down in a few days -
Don Meyer, who runs a large project for research on siblings of disabled people, was wondering about starting it -
I wanted to give him a chance to write something, since he himself is sort of an expert in the field. (The New York Times goes to him for advice on how to deal with disability issues...)
Perhaps he himself would be worth an entry.
Regardless, if it comes down, I'll give him a chance to write something meatier - I only put it up because I was going to let him try to edit it himself...
Thanks for the speedy feedback. :)

sibnet and SibNet
Hey Lee -
Thanks again -
No sweat, I understand where you're going with this. Any chance we could at least delete the sibnet and keep the SibNet until we can write a little more?
- Dirk ;)
RE: Manuel Ray Rivero
I am including the source of the information, all I am trying to do is put Manuel Ray Rivero in Wikipedia as a important historical figure in the Cuban Revolution, as he is one of its key players.

any advice on how to make an entry on a major PR consultancy? This firm has over 500 employees and represents some of the biggest tech firms in the world including IBM, Cisco and Xerox. I tried several times today to create an entry but it kept being rejected as a blatant advert - yet my entry was factual. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Timdyson (talk • contribs) 04:17, 1 February 2007 (UTC).

When you say notability do you mean industry recognition? For example the firm is a recognized member of various industry organizations such as the Council of PR Firms, PRCA and the PRSA —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Timdyson (talk • contribs) 04:37, 1 February 2007 (UTC).
Video game wiki
Hi Leebo86, I'm doing a little personal research and I'm hoping you might be able to lend some assistance. I'm thinking about starting a "wiki" like site that is focused on video games. Before I put the effort into creating the site I'm wondering what makes someone, like yourself, want to contribute to wikipedia? I'm very intrigued and encouraged that people contribute to this site without getting something back (monetarily). Is it just the feeling of being able to contribute to something? Is it a feeling of being part of a community?
Don't worry, I'm not from some big corporate company. I'm just a normal guy living down in Miami, Florida.
Thank you for taking your time to help answer my questions, Sam
You can answer me back through here or directly to my e-mail address sambuzin@gmail.com
I know
I'm sorry I flew off the handle in the "Boss (videogames)" discussion it's just that I have had so many of my favorite pages being deleted or significantly cut in size to the point I can't bare to look at those pages anymore, and for the record, I have said things like "stylish boss" and "strong boss" WAY before I found the article on wikipedia. Shadowclan Sockpuppets
This article seems to have many sockpuppets supporting it and will not allow another AFD. "shadowclan" is an online gaming guild not notable. Bobbythebuilder 01:22, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
BLOHARDs webpage
Late last week, I added an article on the BLOHARDs; a New York-based red sox fan group. I looked for the article today, and found instead a message, apparently from you, that it had been marked for speedy deletion. Evidently, I hadn't demonstrated that it was of interest to anybody other than the BLOHARDs.
I was told, if I disputed this characterization, to go to the entry and put a {hangon} tag, and justify the "notability" of the organization in the entry's "talk" page. Unfortunately, I can't find the entry any more, it having apparently already been speedily deleted.
As far as notability goes, I can offer newspaper articles from:
The Boston Globe, on three different occasions: [1] [2] and [3]
Time Magazine's website (three articles): [4][5][6]
New York Newsday: [9]
The New York Daily News: [10]
And Sports Illustated: [11] [12]
As a matter of interest to you as a Hartford resident, you may note in the last article that BLOHARD co-founder Henry Berry was himself a Hartford native.
In any event, I hope that this satisfactorily addresses the issue of "notability". Is there amy way I can get my article back? Or has it been not just speedily, but also permanently, deleted?
Incidentally, I'm sort of surprised that I didn't get an email pending the deletion of the article. IIRC, I provided an email address when registering for just this sort of purpose.

Thanks for your help. That was my first submission, and I'm still finding my way here.
