For the extraordinary work you've been doing finding references for Martin Luther King, Jr. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 22:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC) |
- I'm afraid I don't have time to offer for this urgently important article, but after taking a quick look, it seems oddly organized – the first part of his life appears to consist of only one paragraph. I don't think years are needed in headings, and do we really need a list of honorary degrees in the middle of the piece? Good luck with this article – I can't think of a US biography that ought to be featured more. – Scartol • Tok 11:51, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Jack Youngblood
Thanks for your help on the Youngblood article. Pinkkeith and I were doing the fixes you suggested and got all of them done. However, Pats1 came in and just, well, changed it all. Pinkkeith and I had no say, nothing. No consensus building even though I tried to slow him down. He was just on a mission. I found his actions to be un-WP:civil and WP:OWN and he didn't WP:CONSENSUS build at all. Anyway, I reported it at the AN/I of you have any thoughts. I don't know if you care about that article or not or if you were just helping out.72.0.36.36 (talk) 03:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

The number of stub articles has decreased to its lowest level since the project began its focus on improving them. The goal is to get the number below 600, and we're getting close. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help expand and/or source an article or two. A list has been placed on the stub article subpage of stub articles of well-known wrestlers that should be fairly easy to improve.

hey man, don't despair. good work on Martin Luther, I was hoping to talk to you sometime about some collaboration, maybe stay away from talk pages for a bit and get back to the mainspace, keep your head down on some articles. Tom (talk) 23:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
GA Nominee
Nikki told me at WT:PW, that I could nominate them since they have been on the waiting list for over 3 weeks, I am not taking credit for them (except for Backlash '03).--SRX--LatinoHeat 23:58, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Help! I'm new here and my first contribution is flagged!
I am contesting the flag on the informational article "HostRail". The post intention is to be informational about the company and it's pioneering efforts in areas of web technology. I believe that the article "HostRail" is no more promotional than the articles about GoDaddy, HostGator, HostWay and many others.
If the link to HostRail.com is being contested, I would be happy to take it off. However, the link was placed for the purpose of siting the text supplied on that page that was used and modified in the article explaining the grid technology.
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

changes
Thank you for the explanation, Gary. "Excellent" was my point of view as a customer of the service. I removed that. "Pioneer" was a descriptive term, not a matter of opinion. "New" "Groundbreaking" etc would work. The rest, as far as I can tell is fact-based. I recently switched from GoDaddy hosting to HostRail hosting for my site. I love wiki, but was disappointed to see that GoDaddy and some other hosting sites had an informational page, but not HostRail. This is my first try at posting an article... it would great to see it posted, not deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HostRail (talk • contribs) 04:19, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Bears and GA
Well, when Knut (polar bear) was promoted to GA, it was placed under its own category in Biology and Medicine, "Significant organisms". Even now it's under "Biology" at WP:FA. I think that "Culture and society" makes sense, but in a literal minded sense, she is an animal. I'm really not sure, though. María (habla conmigo) 23:49, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Question
Hi Gary. When working on PPV articles from the mid-1990's, do you ever find it difficult to write a huge amount for a particular feud? For instance, I'm working on In Your House 2: The Lumberjacks, and I'm finding myself not being able to write loads because not many things happened in the buildup to a match (partially because of bad booking etc). Do you ever find that happening when your writing PPV articles? Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 19:03, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Na. Nothing in particular. When I've finished working on the article, could you possibly leave comments on it on the talkpage? I should of finished it by tonight, maybe tomorrow morning. Oh, and while I'm here...

I've finished In Your House 2: The Lumberjacks now. I was wondering whether you could give it a "pre-GA review" on the talkpage, as I feel this has the potentional to become a GA. If possible, could you do this today or tomorrow, as I won't be online as from Saturday as I'm going on vacation. Thanks. D.M.N. (talk) 14:48, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comments. I've responded to them on the talkpage. Please note that if no response is given by at least 9pm UK time/4pm USA Eastern time, I am unlikely to respond to the comments until I get back onto Wikipedia on 3rd August (that's of course if I don't have an internet connection while on vacation). D.M.N. (talk) 12:07, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll probably nominate it for GA when I get back off holiday. D.M.N. (talk) 13:51, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Notice
I don't think you mind but when you are done articles, you should put them under peer review before nominating them on the waiting list, just a suggestion.--SRX 15:52, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well no one really pays attention to the waiting list, which I find redundant. But what I do is ask people to review my peer reviews which you should do as it helps in the future. (Just a suggestion).--SRX 03:32, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Please provide some examples of your review (preferably at least one review which you passed the article and another that you failed the article, quick-fail not included) OhanaUnitedTalk page 15:36, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Welcome onboard! You can find the instructions on sweeps' main page. Keep track of your reviews at this page. If you are unsure about something, go ask. (P.S. I didn't see your userpage and I would have immediately allowed you access if I saw the numerous GA awards you received) OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:51, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough..you have very valid points...but shoot; why are you wasting your obvious intelligence editing for this place; this is for the most part; becoming The Third Reich of The Internet (i stand by that statement; sorry). Hi,
For personal reasons, I am no longer involved with the sweeps... I had thought that I had cleared up all the business, but apparently I missed one. If you feel that it meets the requirements, then I have no objection to it remaining a Good Article. Apologies for forgetting about it. Cheers, CP 19:30, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what the "correct" thing to do in this situation is, but I added the link to the reference. I've thought about joining the GA Sweeps team, and I've done four or five on my own. How's it going? Nikki311 19:59, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Good Article reassessment for Valley of the Kings
Sorry for getting back so late on this point. Have been busy with other, non-Wikipedia/real-life matters for a little while now, and so have not had the chance to address the points you originally posited regarding the Valley of the Kings article. However I see that some of my associates have already addressed most of the questions you posed though.
A question: in your mind what would still be required in order for this to become a Feature Article (rather than just a Good article)?

Comment regarding images
I noticed your comment on Nici's talkpage regarding images and headers. You stated a level 2 header is === this ===. A level 2 header, according WP:MOSHEAD is == this ==. D.M.N. (talk) 16:49, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- It seems like we are not the only ones confused. I suggest removing your comment from Nici's talkpage (for the time being) and waiting to see what others say in the discussion over at WT:MOS. Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 17:02, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
I've fixed all of your comments/suggestions on the talk page. Thanks, jj137 (talk) 21:07, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Re: Image Placement
Actually, it was nothing to do with the headings they were under. It was "place images of faces so that the face or eyes look toward the text." My apologies. I should have made it clearer, and sorry for the delay in replying. ;) ♥Nici♥Vampire♥Heart♥ 08:11, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Juggernaut (wrestler)
The article Juggernaut (wrestler) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold. It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Juggernaut (wrestler) for things needed to be addressed. - weebiloobil (talk) 09:31, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- If you were to take a trip over to Juggernaut (wrestler), you might find a little surprise waiting. I need hardly plead for you to assess an article, seeing as you have GA-reviewed more articles than I have. Well done! - weebiloobil (talk) 20:44, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Lockdown
Thanks for the copyedit for Lockdown, but why are you removing the Out of Universe stuff since the only problem was the explaining of moves.--WillC 20:39, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'm fine with anything you do as long as it gets to GA. I'm tired of the article. I want it GA so I can focus on the other 2008 articles from TNA. The only thing I don't want done is the removal of a feud from the background. Everything else is fine with me. Thanks for the help.--WillC 20:45, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah that is what I tried to do with Lockdown since it was the first article on here I've ever written. I thought about what had build and what didn't. The queen of the Cage and Cuffed in the Cage got about 2 minutes of build and no storyline behind them. So I didn't write them but even if a very little was done, I try to write as much as I can.--WillC 20:53, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks again for the copyedit for Lockdown, I was wondering since I'm not sure who to ask anymore, could you take a look at Sacrifice (2008)? It just got nominated for GA review. It is smaller than Lockdown and might be a little bit better, though it was the second article I ever wrote. I'm still new at this so it may be a little amateur. The peer review didn't really help and it was reviewed before the out of universe change. I don't really like asking people for favors but if you don't mind it would help me to learn what mistakes to look out for. I've been trying to figure out what not to do since I would like to make Bound for Glory IV a FA by the end of the year or beginning of the new year.--WillC 05:50, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, take your time, I can see it will be a while before anyone reviews it at GAN.--WillC 17:46, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

- I responded again to the FLC--SRX 19:07, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Hey GCF, in a thread at WT:PW, you named a lot of non-notable terms in this article from A-G. I've since removed them because although they are verified by a source, they are not notable. Can you collect a list from H-Z of the rest of the non-notable terms? I'd really appreciate it! Best, -- iMatthew T.C. 14:40, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
