Anatomical terms of neuroanatomy |
The ventral striatum is a portion of the striatum.
It consists of the nucleus accumbens, olfactory tubercle,[1] and islands of Calleja.
Some sources also include the ventromedial parts of the caudate nucleus and putamen.[2]
It is considered a reward center.[3]
