We now have an IRC channel for Wikimedians in the northeast: #wikimedia-northeast connect. The New York chapter may be moving toward a more regional membership system, so Pittsburgh area editors could be part of the chapter.

Friday, February 26, 2016 ART+FEMINISM EDIT-A-THON, STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at CMU
Please join us from 12:00pm-7:00pm at the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University for the first of two ART+FEMINISM EDIT-A-THONs in Pittsburgh! As you may have noticed, there are two events happening in Pittsburgh. Ours will focus on the intersection of art and technology. The event is free and open to the public. People of all gender identities and expressions, particularly transgender, cisgender, and gender nonconforming women, are invited to participate. The STUDIO is a wheelchair accessible space and there are services available to accommodate participants with disabilities. Please let us know what resources you need when you RSVP. - Sorry. Can't attend. We are doing lots with wikis, http://CLOH.wikia.com. On that date, and mostly all summer, we're at the swim pool. Calendar at http://CLOH.org. How about if you all move the gathering to the swim pool? 21:45, 18 June 2015 (UTC) from Mark Rauterkus
- It's nice to see the community is still alive. I have left US 3 years ago, sadly, so I can't be there. Cheers to all old friends, and kudos for the new ones. Say, since this is CMU-affiliated, are you doing some follow-up on Farzan and Kraut research ([1])? (Hi Robert, glad to see you are still interested in Wikipedia). PS. I hope this meetup will at least give us a photo of Newell Simon Hall :) --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:48, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, everyone! I am in the area and would be interested in attending!! However, I am taking night classes this summer during most of the week except Tuesdays! Is there any way we can do a future meetup on a Tuesday or possibly change the date to Tuesday June 23rd? Thanks for the invitation, static shakedown ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 13:34, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
