Scope
This is a WikiProject on elements of the Latter Day Saint movement, Mormonism, Latter Day Saint history, doctrine, practices, and other cultural effects inspired by Joseph Smith.
Project style guidelines
See:
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Latter Day Saints)
- Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Latter Day Saints)
- Standards for Temples
- Standards for Navigation boxes
Some quick points to remember:
- Titles of articles wholly pertaining to the Latter Day Saint movement should be parenthesized "(Latter Day Saints) if they are ambiguous without the parenthetical.
- Articles should not be limited to a single Latter Day Saint denomination, unless including the entire Latter Day Saint movement is impractical or awkward. For example, instead of "Restoration (Community of Christ)" or "Restoration (LDS Church)", you would call the article Restoration (Latter Day Saints).
- In article names, references to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints should capitalize the initial The and include a hyphen and a lower-case "d".
- In general, use the term Mormon or its derivatives only when referring to people or denominations with historical ties to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints based in Utah.
- Deadlinks are discouraged as they tend to attract POV material on religious subjects.
- Apply the {{LDS-stub}} boilerplate message at the end of stubs.
Timelines
There are currently three timelines related to Mormonism: Chronology of Mormonism (dealing with the 19th Century); Mormonism in the 20th century; and 21st century (Mormonism). You can show a link to the timeline somewhere on the page (probably in "see also" or in See ... bits) as appropriate. For specific dates (e.g., June 1, 1944) you should link in accordance with wp:DATELINK.
All date-related information relating to Joseph Smith, Jr. and his immediate family can be included in Chronology of Mormonism.

To do
- Place the {{LDSproject}} banner on all relevant articles.
- Place all relevant articles on the list at List of Latter Day Saint movement topics, by category.
- Check recent changes (alternate) for recent improvements, vandalism, and other changes.
- Create navigational templates for articles relating to an aspect of the WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement. Coordinate this effort with {{Latter Day Saint movement}} so that they work together for navigational purposes and do not compete. See User:NThurston/sandbox/test for a preliminary effort.

How to find WP:LDS articles
All articles related to this WikiProject should be in one of the many subcategories of Category:Latter Day Saint movement. We also try to keep List of Latter Day Saint movement topics up to date, but it doesn't always reflect the most current state as well as the categories. As long as {{LDSproject}} (or the longer form {{WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement}}) is found on the talk page for the article, list, category, etc... it will also be available thru the grid in the recognized content section below. This will also add the articles to Category:WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement articles and it's subcategories.

Script-generated to-do lists/Articles needed553 red links compiled from nearly all of the articles in the Category:Mormonism hierarchy. I've listed the Mormonism-related articles that employ each red link because many of them are obvious mistakes that should be fixed on the page. Some should also be redirects to prevent similar mistakes in the future. I've also listed the number of main namespace links-to. Many of these have nothing whatsoever to do with the Latter Day Saint movement, but I believe this list is interesting. Many secular links need to be fixed anyway. Make intentions to write articles known on the project page — Cool Hand Luke 07:36, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC) /Requested stubsThis list compiled from Category:Latter Day Saint movement stubs, listed in order of number of links-to, excluding wikilinks from user pages and Wikipedia namespace. Note that the {{LDS-stub}} template causes every Latter Day Saint movement stub to have a self-referential link. Therefore, every article has one less link-to than this list shows. Thus, articles listed her have one less link-to than it would appear. Therefore the articles with "1" link-to are in fact orphans. Cool Hand Luke 07:36, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC) Requests for comment and PollsAn archive of former polls exists, but there are no current polls. If there is an issue you would like brought up, use the talk page to discuss it. Articles in ProgressBesides the work below, there are dozens of Latter Day Saint movement stubs that need to be filled out. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement/Articles needed and Wikipedia:WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement/Requested stubs. To prevent duplication of effort, if you are working on an open task, PLEASE sign your name beneath the article's listing below, preferably with some sort of comment, so we know who is working on what, and what still needs to be done. Once the task you have been working on is complete, please remove it from this list, and from {{LDSinfobox}}. Please put NEW requests at the BOTTOM of their respective list.
