About Image:Good shepherd.JPG
Hi, Kleuske. Are you the same Wikipedian that uploaded the Image:Good shepherd.JPG in the Commons? There is a debate in Early Christianity questioning if this image can be considered to be from the 2nd century AD. If you have any info regarding that, it would be apreciatted. --Leinad ¬ »saudações! 21:57, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Kleuske! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 3,033 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Fair use rationale for File:Biereco verherbouwingen.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Biereco verherbouwingen.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:37, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Early Christian inscriptions
Noticed your corrections of the translation of the top image on the page Early Christian inscriptions. I did some moderate editing of that article (mostly adding links and modernizing the language) and added images, surprised that it had none. The translation I copied from the text of the image file; when I went to check that, I noticed that you had uploaded it in the first place. So I thought I should remind you that you might want to revisit the text there too, in case it's used elsewhere and someone else copies it as mindlessly as I did. (I have no particular knowledge of this topic, and was led to it by a tangential interest.) Your image, BTW, is a wonderful contribution. Do you have any info you could add about its provenance, or where you photographed it? Cynwolfe (talk) 16:01, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder, but the entry on commons was the one i corrected first, the article you, gracefully, illustrated using this image, was a reponsability. I know how stuff gets copied. See File:House altar, Herculaneum 2005.jpg, which i thought was in Pompei (mixed up some photo's).I had to visit every page the image is used on and correct it, which, i'm proud to say, is rather a lot. Dutch, English, German? No problem. French, Spanish and Italian? A bit more tricky, but i think i got it right. But Basque? Finnish? Polish? Ayayay... I hope they'll forgive me and do not think i'm a vandal.
- I was proud to see my image in such a prominent position, including the fruit of my labour, the translation. It's inscriptions like this that really put you face to face with ancient Rome, and eventhough it's some 1600 years old, it moved me. It's in the Museo Epigrafico, in the Terme Diocleziano. IIRC, it's on the third floor. If you ever get to Rome, a visit there may be worthwhile. Bring your imagination, though. Kleuske (talk) 16:46, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- I may (fingers crossed) be going to Rome in November, and I'll make a note of that! Might be good to note the provenance in the text of the image file. I thought yours was by far the best available image; the ichthys stele is complicated by its use of the abbreviation D.M., "to the Di Manes," which is fascinating but raises many questions. Thanks again, Cynwolfe (talk) 17:12, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- :-) I hope to be going next year <sigh>... It's the easiest museum to find in Rome. Go to Roma Termini (the big railway station) by metro, walk out the front entrance and walk across the Piazza Cinquecento (named after the famous Fiat, mind the busses, though!), cross the street at the other end and you're there... No problem. As it was, it turned out that none (or almost none, I can't remember) of the founders of the Institut de Droit International included in the WP. This subject, at least, was already in the International law scholars category at least. I admittedly only poke in and either make small changes, or add banners as here. You might want to see if there is currently anyone active who can add more, or possibly provide more cites for what is there. IMHO (talk) 22:22, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Drachenfels (Siebengebirge) Reply
Thanks for your question - it's a good one. Firstly it's important to realize that the German words Berge and Gebirge may refer to either hills or mountains. Diercke's Wörterbuch Allgemeine Geographie translates Gebirge, for example, as "mountains", "mountain range" or "hills". In English, hills are lower than mountains, but there is no universal definition of a "mountain". However, Britain and Ireland officially use 2000 feet (610 metres) and Whittow's Physical Geography notes that "some authorities" use this definition, so in translations, I tend to use this as a guide. In the case of the Siebengebirge, even the highest point, the Ölberg, is only 460 metres high, well below a "mountain". The term Mittelgebirge has no direct equivalent in English as it includes both high hills and low mountains. Hence Diercke has various translations including: "hill country", "hills", "secondary mountain" and "mountains of moderate height". Finally it is worth noting that Dickinson's Germany. A Regional and Economic Geography says this: "The Siebengebirge is a group of residual volcanic hills that lie in between the Sieg and the Rhine. These conical-shaped hills reach heights of 400 metres and rise from a level platform with a height of 200 metres (Drachenfels, 461 metres, Petersberg)" Hope that helps and I would be grateful if you would revert your edit. Since you reverted an edit with the summary "BLP", please explain at the talk page the BLP violation you are concerned with. There is already a section there where this is being discussed. Thank you.Two kinds of pork (talk) 14:31, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- It gives undue weight to a relatively minor, yet controversial subject and does not represent the source correctly. The article states that the "support" had to do with the debate and FBI interest.
"I supported NAMBLA for a really long time, in part because they got so much harassment from the FBI and the cops, and I found that really scary. It's my feeling that we do have a First Amendment in this country, and even though their positions are very unpopular, simply discussing an issue should not be a criminal activity."
- This is NOT sufficiently reflected in the article. Associating anyone with pedophiles requires extra, extra care, since the subject is likely to arouse strong emotions. Kleuske (talk) 12:24, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm well aware of what was going on; the problem is that a declaration that something is fringe does not absolve you of the requirement to be neutral or permit you to remove evidence of a different perspective — let alone edit-warring, missing a 3RR violation by just three hours. I cannot remember the last time that I saw "fringe" referenced, except by those seeking an excuse to avoid writing neutrally; this is definitely not such an instance. Nyttend (talk) 00:10, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
- Not quite sure what that last sentence means... This is an instance where WP:FRINGE is cited and the removal was not neutral or just the opposite? If you think removing the reference to Genemuiden wasn't neutral, please provide a reliable source to indicate any such connection. Kleuske (talk) 00:19, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
- For some reason i have a strong sense you have absolutely no clue about what was going on. Kleuske (talk) 00:21, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Kleuske's been edit-warring against multiple users, and protecting right now would have the result of rewarding Kleuske. I've issued a warning for edit-warring and will enforce it with a block if this continues.

- Ah, yes... 82.157.236.177 also filed a block request on the dutch wiki, which was subsequently advocated by Rolf1981 (it was found frivolous). In the course of the exchange, Rolf1981 claims: "I'm not always logged in [...]. Where it says Rolf it's me, i assumed that was clear". Here and here he admits the block request by 82.157.236.177 was actually his. Kleuske (talk) 01:43, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
- Finally, I have extensively argued the case against "Navalia is Genemuiden" on the dutch wikipedia. I am quite prepared to do the same here, if you want, but it seems a waste of time. Kleuske (talk) 01:54, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

I'm surprised nl: checkusers will release IP addresses for confirmed sockpuppeteers (en: checkusers won't), but they don't deserve to have them kept private because they're using that to disrupt things, so I'm glad that the address-to-username connection was released. It might be a joke in very poor taste. On the other hand, such a thing is not unknown. Look at the maps linked to this article. Britmax (talk) 19:45, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

- Having read the article you point to, there's an important difference: The Fauld explosion took place underground, the Enschede one took place above ground. Hence a big hole in the first case and the lack of one in the second. Kleuske (talk) 10:40, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
WA
Since we don't have an article on them (yet) I looked to the Dutch wiki for a short summary. AFAIK they were kind of a "paramilitary arm intended to terrorize", but I can't really use such strong language if there's no article with references to lean on. "Bodyguard": "de WA werd eind 1932 opgericht met als taak de beweging, haar leden en ir. A.A. Mussert, haar leider, tegen aanvallen van politieke tegenstanders te beschermen". Let's write them up so we can settle this for next time. It shouldn't be too hard to improve on the Dutch article... And note how it does not clarify how physical protection from political opponents is to be taken. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 13:57, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

They never amounted to much. AFAIK. I was tempted to compare them with the SA, but they were nothing like that. The Germans never allowed Mussert (and the WA) to wield any real power at all. Apart from terrorizing Jews and parading in black uniforms, they never actually did anything. But the subject is interesting. Kleuske (talk) 16:29, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- I watched the video of the Koot funeral. To see all these upstanding Dutch citizens with their right arms up, in this beautiful city which was mine for a few years, brr. Hey, I just wrote up Piet Zanstra. Those studios in the Zomerdijkstraat, one of my friends lived across from that building, so this was a walk down memory lane. Hans Warren knew people in those studios and related an anecdote in his Geheim Dagboek, of a woman who lived in the studio where Jan Wolkers used to live, and said, "grappig, om op een WC te zitten waar heldenpoep is gevallen". - The event was significant and was exploited much like the death of Horst Wessel. I somehow hve the suspicion that the "upstanding citizens" were not a representative bunch, but NSB-members and sympathisers. I would not take that at face value. The WA played a significant part in the events leading up to the February strike, that deserves a mention. See here for an account. Kleuske (talk) 18:30, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Dag Kleuske, wat is er gebeurd ? Lotje (talk) 12:13, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- Goeie vraag...

--VanBuren (talk) 21:14, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
