Some ofthe issues with the curreent version of this Wiki page might be problems of editing and organization. How do I do "clean-up" if I am a novice at editing and clean-up?

- Draft:Bliss Juice ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Hello, I've recently submitted an article on a juicing company but have received feedback it reads too much like an advertisement and should be written from a neutral point of view. I have changed the tone several times but still haven't been successful. Another issue is h=I have provided links for references however received feedback it doesn't show notability of the business- my links include an article in local newspaper Liverpool Echo, a blog post on the products, and an introduction to the company on an entrepreneur website. Please can I have some advice on improving my chances of getting the article submitted. Thank you. AmyEasyTech (talk) 09:33, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi there. I have tried to submit my Wikipedia page for review a few times and I am having an issue properly sourcing the page. The most recent editor said I need in-line references. Right now I have a section called "In the Media", but do I need to have an additional section with references? Thanks so much! Kara.schell (talk) 14:07, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

My new web page is Draft Status. Your person Marchjuly requested that I move it on to whatever the next approval level is. Could you tell me exactly how to do this without referring me to another Wikipedia page. I am 80 years old and need someone to give me exact instructions.
Thank you very much <Personal information redacted>
Hubert Leon Raper 23:54, 5 May 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by LeonRaper (talk • contribs)
- Hi Hubert Leon Raper. As I posted on your talk page, you can submit your draft via Wikipedia:Articles for creation when you think it's ready. To do this simply add Template:Submit to the top of the draft. The way to do this is click the "edit" button for your draft, add the code
{{subst:submit}}
to the top of the page, click the "Show preview" button to check to make sure you added the template correctly, and then click "Save page". Your draft will be added to the list of other drafts waiting to be reviewed. The AfC reviewer who reviews your draft notify you on your user talk page when they have finished their review. It might take a little while if there's a back log and because all Wikipedia editors are volunteers. - Finally, some friendly advice. Wikipedia has special ways of doing lots of things including the way editors sign their posts. The easiest way to do this is using 4 tilde (
~~~~
). This will automatically add your username and a time stamp to any talk page/noticeboard post you make. You can also customize your signature a bit if you like per WP:SIGNATURE so that your posts are signed "Hubert Leon Raper". Also, please try to understand that (once again) pretty much everyone you encounter on Wikipedia is a volunteer and not paid staff of the Wikimedia Foundation. All contact between Wikpedia editors typically takes place via Wikipedia talk pages, etc. to allow others to follow what is being discussed and comment as needed. Therefore, personal information such as your phone number or your email address is almost never going to be used by anyone to contact you regarding Wikipedia matters except in cases where privacy matters take precedance. Your personal information, however, may be inappropriately used by others more interested in furthering their own interests than either yours or Wikipedia's. So, please be careful how much you reveal because once something is posted on Wikipedia, it's there for everyone in the world to see and use as they see fit. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:06, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
Request on 00:09:30, 6 May 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Dydney
Hi my user account name is Dydney but my real name is Sydney and I want to write an article about something useful but I don't know what you would be looking for. Please give me a brief thought on something useful. Thanks! :)
Dydney (talk) 00:09, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Dydney. Wikipedia:Requested articles lists topics people have asked for articles on. Many may not be suitable subjects for an encyclopedia. Be warned that writing a new article from scratch is one of the most frustrating and time consuming things a novice editor can attempt. There are a million easier and more rewarding ways to improve Wikipedia without writing entirely new articles. Tyshon90 (talk) 02:48, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
-
- First, just as the reviewer says, you did not provide independent reliable sources. Second, autobiographical articles in general are strongly discouraged. They are often very promotional, and yours is no exception. Third, I don't think that any of the reviewers here are likely to provide you with the sort of assistance that you want, because Wikipedia isn't the place to promote yourself. 17:36:04, 7 May 2016 review of submission by Ngfields223[edit]
- Ngfields223 (talk · contribs) (TB)
I have updated references and citations, but some of my media and articles are no longer linked in the internet. I have verified each of these references with actual printed copies of each article, magazine, or mention. Can I leave these references in this article if I only have the printed materials, but no live links? Thank you very much for your help.
- Hi Ngfields223, sources do not have to be online, so magazines and newspapers are acceptable. You must however provide sufficient detail of the source article so that someone else could find it; article title, author, page number, magazine/newspaper title, publication date, and if it exists the ISSN number of the publication. The {{cite news}} and {{cite magazine}} templates are useful as they consist of a "fill in the blanks" form to add the required details. Please see the Referencing for beginners guide for further detail. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 19:15, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
- Draft:Innovation Tautogram ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
I have written about Innovation Tautogram, a novel innovation tool I developed. It is published in www.innovationmanagement.sw and innovationexcellence.com. I am the creator of this tool. However, I have not mentioned my name (Shanta Rajapaksha Yapa) in the draft assuming that you will consider same as a violation of your rules. How would the readers know who introduced this tool to the world? Is mentioning my name (name only) a violation of wikipedia rules?
Thank You!
Shanta Rajapaksha Yapa
Shanta R Yapa (talk) 06:35, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Shanta R Yapa: The draft cannot be approved whether it mentions your name or not, because it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about it should be included in Wikipedia. It is not clear that the product has had any significant or demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education.
- Wikipedia is not Facebook or LinkedIn. Products are not entitled to an encyclopedia article. Only those that have been written about at length in arms-length, reliable, secondary sources, are included. Articles must be based primarily on such sources. The draft cites no sources independent of the creator of the product.
- Based on these sources the subject does not appear to be a suitable topic for a stand alone encyclopedia article. Wikipedia is not for advertising, marketing, or public relations. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:25, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
Hi,
I have been working on a submission since few months now. I really tried to follow the wikipedia rules especially regarding the reliable sources. The article that I wrote is full of sources from national newspaper such as the Guardian, the Evening Standard, The Financial Times... Even though I have been told that it was not enough... So I feel a bit lost. Is anyone could help me? Thanks
- Draft:Dale Armin Johnson ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Hello and thank you. I'm inquiring about what additional third-party verification I would need for a submission for the film producer Dasle Armin Johnson. My submission was rejected on the grounds that the subject wasn't notable. I had linked to Mr. Johnson's film credits for Executive Producer and Producer at IMDb, which is the entertainment standard database for the who's-who in the world of entertainment. I'm confused how this subject could be deemed not notable enough for inclusion. And I'm curious what further reference I would need to support the citations already made to IMDb. –Thank you so much.
Anonjourna (talk) 18:32, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Anonjourna: IMDB is user-generated. Therefore it is not a reliable source and should not be used as a reference. See Wikipedia:External links/Perennial websites for further explanation. Significant coverage across multiple, independent, reliable, secondary sources is required to demonstrate notability. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:50, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- Draft:Yitzhak Buxbaum ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
My draft article "Yitzhak Buxbaum" was just rejected for the second time. The current draft attempted to address the problems raised by the previous reviewer, and includes citations from books and newspaper articles independent of the subject. I am at a loss to understand how these sources and their content don't establish notability. I am also confused by the reviewer's comment that "some citations establish notability but not very well." If they establish notability, isn't the subject notable?
In addition, we are talking about the author of several well-received books published by well-established publishers, who is also a very widely known storyteller and teacher. Do these achievements not qualify someone as notable? Would adding a bibliography of Buxbaum's books be a help here, or a waste of time?
The reviewer's note said "problems of self-promotion remain" but a) it isn't self-promotion as I am not Yitzhak Buxbaum; b) I don't know what those problems are at this point. Is the issue the one remaining link to Buxbaum's website? It seems to me that articles on other people and institutions do include their websites; would moving this to a list at the end of the article help?
Please help me out. Any specific guidance you can offer would be most appreciated. Justin Jaron Lewis (talk) 19:53, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- User talk:Deodoroc ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
I'm trying to create an article on "Deodoroc", a non-toxic commercial product for controlling odors. My first submission was declined for good reasons and I corrected the shortcomings. This second submission was also declined on reasonable grounds, where they said my references didn't "adequately show the subject's notability" and that I needed to add a variety of reliable, independent (third-party) sources that discuss the subject in significant detail. This is where I have the problem - there's nothing on the internet that meets that criteria. I'd be OK with this but this rule doesn't appear to have been applied to the articles for the chemical based products from Febreze, Glade and AirWick, which are the main competitors to Deodoroc. Does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with this situation? thanks!
