KPRI article
Hello Alreet. My uncle, Larry Shushan, founded KPRI as the first FM station in San Diego back in the early 60s. As you probably know, the station changed hands after he sold it and it went through many format changes over the ensuing decades. My cousin, Tammy Shushan (my uncle's daughter) would know the whole story. (My uncle ended up at various radio stations such as KSDO, and later owned a company that built radio towers atop various hills throughout the region. My reason for writing is that your history section goes back only to 2009 when your station was assigned these call letters. But the fact is that the call letters are actually quite important in the annals of FM radio in southern California and San Diego in particular. I'm out of the country at the moment but back in San Diego after July 1st. I can be reached at larryshushan@gmail.com if you're interested in pursuing this for the sake of accuracy. I didn't want to try editing what you have without consulting with you. Thanks very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.224.139.83 (talk) 15:09, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Larry. I'm just a visiting editor with a general interest in radio. But if you can provide some links or point to other published sources, I'll do what I can to update the article. I say "published sources" because that's what Wikipedia uses as source material. For example, your uncle's daughter's recollection could not be used, but if there's a newspaper article or web page that tells the story, that can be used - and with a footnote so readers know the source. Also, if you have reliable sources, you don't have to consult anyone about contributing to an article. BTW, my father was a professional announcer and managed a couple stations in the 1950s and 60s. A wonderful industry with a rich history. Thanks for sharing your family's part in it. Allreet (talk) 04:16, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 16, 2016
Hi Allreet, how are you? It's been a long time! I hope you're doing well. Not sure if you might possibly already know about this, but the article we worked on four years ago will be the TFA on May 16. Mick Gold has recently added some content for the outtakes available on The Cutting Edge, and I'm also doing some minor clean-up (dead links and stuff like that). But the article seems to be in pretty good shape—most of what I've been fixing so far has been very little things. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you about this—it'll be a moment of glory for you too (you did 220 edits on the article back in the day). Take care, old friend. Moisejp (talk) 05:48, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
Precious
Bob Dylan songs
Thank you quality articles around Bob Dylan based on about 900 covers of his songs, such as Blonde on Blonde, performed in collaboration, for Gerde's Folk City and Lehigh County history, for a user page full of help, for "I'll make it a point to not be a stranger". - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

List of train songs
What an absolutely tremendous article. I only wish I'd stumbled across it sooner. Thank you for all your hard work on it. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 23:59, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

File:Years in the Making album cover.jpg
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Khoi
The disambiguation already exists at Khoi (disambiguation). There’s no need for a second disambiguation page and it was already discussed that Khoikhoi is the primary topic. 66.87.149.130 (talk) 05:46, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

March GOCE newsletter
Guild of Copy Editors March 2019 Newsletter
Hello and welcome to the March newsletter, a brief update of Guild activities since December 2018. All being well, we're planning to issue these quarterly in 2019, balancing the need to communicate widely with the avoidance of filling up talk pages. Don't forget you can unsubscribe at any time; see below. January Drive: Thanks to everyone for the splendid work in January's Backlog Elimination Drive. We removed copyedit tags from all of the articles tagged in our original target months of June, July and August 2018, and by 24 January we ran out of articles. After adding September, we finished the month with 8 target articles remaining and 842 left in the backlog. GOCE copyeditors also completed 48 requests for copyedit in January. Of the 31 people who signed up for this drive, 24 copyedited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Blitz: Thanks to everyone who participated in the February Blitz. Of the 15 people who signed up, 13 copyedited at least one article. Participants claimed 32 copyedits, including 15 requests. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Progress report: As of 23:39, 18 March 2019 (UTC), GOCE copyeditors have completed 108 requests since 1 January and the backlog stands at 851 articles. March Drive: The month-long March drive is now underway; the target months are October and November 2018. Awards will be given to everyone who copyedits at least one article from the backlog. Sign up here! Election reminder: It may only be March but don't forget our mid-year Election of Coordinators opens for nominations on 1 June. Coordinators normally serve a six-month term and are elected on an approval basis. Self-nominations are welcome. If you've thought of helping out at the Guild, or know of another editor who would make a good coordinator, please consider standing for election or nominating them here. Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators Miniapolis, Baffle gab1978, Jonesey95, Reidgreg and Tdslk.
