- The following instructions were copied from mw:Extension:Title Blacklist.
The title blacklist is maintained as a system message MediaWiki:Titleblacklist.
This page consists of regular expressions, each on a separate line. For example:
Foo <autoconfirmed|noedit|errmsg=blacklisted-testpage> Bar #No one should create article about it
There is no need to use "^" at the beginning and "$" at the end; these are added automatically.
Each entry may also contain optional attributes, enclosed in <>
and divided by |
- autoconfirmed — only non-autoconfirmed users are unable to create/upload/move such pages
- noedit — users are also unable to edit this page
- casesensitive — don't ignore case when checking title for being blacklisted
- errmsg — the name of the message that should be displayed instead of standard
When the action is blocked, one of the following messages is displayed together with the filter row (as $1): titleblacklist-forbidden-edit, titleblacklist-forbidden-move, titleblacklist-forbidden-new-account or titleblacklist-forbidden-upload. Generic filenames have their own custom error message, MediaWiki:Titleblacklist-custom-imagename.
There is also MediaWiki:Titlewhitelist and a global title blacklist.
Only administrators, page movers and template editors can override this list on all actions. When they override this list when creating or editing a page, MediaWiki:Titleblacklist-warning is displayed. Account creators can override this list on account creations only.

Please add the entries File:Annotation [0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]\-[0-9][0-9]\-[0-9][0-9].* <reupload | errmsg=titleblacklist-custom-imagename>
and File:Screenshot (\([0-9]{1,}\)).* <reupload | errmsg=titleblacklist-custom-imagename>
as these are generic file names generated by Windows Snip & Sketch and by pressing Windows+PrtScn Aasim 01:58, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Picture
So, I was trying to upload a picture for 1,2,3-Benzothiadiazole. They said I could not upload due to ALLCAPS. Please help.Acidic Carbon (Corrode) 05:55, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Acid Of Carbon: What file name did you try to use? Can you copy and paste the exact error you got? Jackmcbarn (talk) 06:17, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Jackmcbarn 8F3D7B7C-2147-435A-B9F0-62BECEFB4C93.gif is the file name. It says this is blacklisted. ALLCAPS is responsible.Acidic Carbon (Corrode) 13:05, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Acid Of Carbon: That seems like the titleblacklist correctly stopped you from using a particularly poor choice of filename. Why not upload the file as File:1,2,3-Benzothiadiazole.gif instead? Jackmcbarn (talk) 14:42, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Please Blacklist Harsh Beniwal
Please blacklist Harsh Beniwal. There have already been three AFDs:

- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harsh Beniwal (YouTuber)
The title has been salted, but, as can be seen, the submitter is gaming the names of titles by adding an unnecessary disambiguator. It has also been salted in draft space. Title blacklisting is the reasonable next step against an unreasonable editor. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:08, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

In my mind . I want to create my Facebook page and Digital YouTube channel . So that is 𝒁𝒂𝒖 𝑴𝒐𝒐𝒏 (talk) 11:51, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- @𝒁𝒂𝒖 𝑴𝒐𝒐𝒏: Because of your choice of username, you won't be able to create a user page, user sandbox, or any userspace drafts yourself. You can fix that by following the instructions at WP:CHU to change to a normal username that will allow these activities. "Zau Moon" is available, so you could change to it. If you insist on keeping your current username, then you'll need to either create your drafts in the Draft namespace instead of your userspace, or request that an admin or other privileged user create each page that you want to edit. But also note that Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself, and your Facebook page and YouTube channel are probably not notable enough for an article here. Please block any title containing /El Polimata/i, or at least beginning with it, /^El Polimata/i. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Elmenormcrd. Block-evading sockpuppets of this self-promoter keep appearing and creating new copies of the page that was deleted as a result of the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/El Polimata, with a different disambiguator each time because the original has been salted. The latest was El Polimata (singer). Largoplazo (talk) 18:27, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
In Draft space too, please. The same user (with even more aliases today) has been putting up variations on the title in Draft space, such as Draft:El Polimata "Cantante" just a few hours ago. Largoplazo (talk) 04:09, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Can you please add spambot/spam bot to the user creation blacklist as someone is making accounts with the words Antiantispambot like [1] which appears to imply that they won't contribute positively to the Encyclopaedia? Thanks. Train of Knowledge (Talk) 22:22, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Please Blacklist Werley Nortreus
Please see histories of Werley Nortreus and Draft:Werley Nortreus and Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Werley Nortreus.
See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Werley Nortreus (Musical Artist), which was a clear case of gaming the naming of articles. Gaming the system is why we have a title blacklist. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:29, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
Request to un-blacklist .*im.*eiss.*
I was confronted with a blacklist when trying to create an article on Asher Simcha Weissmann . It seems that page names of the form .*im.*eiss.* were blacklisted a few years ago in the sockpuppet investigation against Chinanike101. –Kyuko (talk) 13:46, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
