To report an error in current or upcoming Main Page content, please add it to the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of all or part of the text in question will help.
- Please offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones: The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 14:05 on 4 June 2022), not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not give you a faster response; it is unnecessary as this page is not protected and will in fact cause problems if used here, as this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- Done? Once an error has been fixed, rotated off the Main Page or acknowledged not to be an error, the report will be removed from this page; please check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken, as no archives are kept.
- No chit-chat: Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the relevant article or project talk page.
- Please respect other editors. A real person wrote the blurb or hook for which you are suggesting a fix, or a real person noticed what they honestly believe is an issue with the blurb or hook that you wrote. Everyone is interested in creating the best Main Page possible; with the compressed time frame, there is sometimes more stress and more opportunities to step on toes. Please be civil to fellow users.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, consider first attempting to fix the problem there before reporting it here if necessary. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. In addition, upcoming content is typically only protected from editing 24 hours before its scheduled appearance; in most cases, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.

Thanks to Mathsci for making the article presentable and working on the hook. Not an error but perhaps we can improve:
- ... that the first recording of Bach's Kreuzstab cantata was a 1939 Dutch live broadcast by Mack Harrell, 25 years before the 1964 German recording by his protégé Barry McDaniel?
There was already discussion on DYK, after the nomination.
- I believe that the cantata should be styled with the German word Kreuzstab italic. Sources have both versions, Kreuzstab cantata and Kreuzstab Cantata.
- I, reading the hook without previous knowledge, would think the two people mentioned are conductors, and admit that my original hook had the same problem. (When you know the piece, and know that it calls for an extra expressive singer, you simply take it for granted that the singer is the focus.) I think this would be avoided if we'd replace "by Mack Harrell" by "sung by Mack Harrell" or "sung by the bass Mack Harrell". I'd prefer simply "sung" because the singer was a baritone, not a bass, but Bach wrote the part for bass.
- The lesser concern is that I'd think the article is about the first recording of the cantata, while it is about recordings, which could be helped by saying "the first recording of Bach's Kreuzstab cantata or "the first recording of Bach's Kreuzstab Cantata", with the added benefit that the bolded title is longer :) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:30, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
We are getting close to the set on the Main page. The admins I'd usually ping haven't edited today. Kusma, perhaps: add the word "sung" and have "Kreuzstab" italic, - the minimum? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:15, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- The first recording of Bach's Kreuzstab cantata was a 1939 Dutch live broadcast....
- – How could a recording be a live broadcast (or vice versa)? For English syntax, suggest insertion of second "of" between "was" and "a 1939." – Sca (talk) 12:24, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I am surprised that User:Gerda Arendt has any time at all to comment, given that so far they haven't patched up the problems with the German-Ukrainian violin teacher. What about their usual gossip round?
- The date "1939" was months before the German invasion of the Netherlands in World War II – the live radio broadcast from the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam was made in February, in a period of wartime uncertainty; at that stage Harrell had flown in from New York City, where he was working.
- I agree with User:Kusma that "sung" is not needed.
- The correct styling is "Kreuzstab cantata", taken directly from Gramophone, a WP:RS. In the article on the cantata, it occurs both in the body and the lede: in English, it is commonly referred to as the "Kreuzstab cantata".

- In the Argov blurb, "later" seems to imply that the story had already passed by the time the government used it as a justification- there were only three days in between. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 01:48, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
