Requests for page protection | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
This page is for requesting that a page, file or template be protected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism. Note: Editors should not consider requesting page protection as a method for continuing an argument from elsewhere nor as a venue for starting a new discussion regarding article content. If a request contains excessive argument, appears to be intended to resolve a content dispute, includes personal attacks or uncivil comments, or has any other unrelated discussion, it will be removed from this page and no action will be taken.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent addition of episode and episode related details, even when there is almost a consensus to add a short plot summary and not the episode details of every week. Itcouldbepossible Talk 04:40, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Temporary full protection seems warranted given the recent edit-warring; after that I'd recommend an increase to indef ECP as this is clearly still attracting disruption; including from non-EC accounts; and I'm quite sure it also falls under WP:ARBCOM/DS (Eastern Europe/Balkans?). Antony Gormley

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Gormley's announcement that he is applying for a German passport has caused a rash of edits jumping to conclusions unsupported by the only source we have so far. It would reduce editor fatigue if this could be slowed down, please. Thanks. DBaK (talk) 19:22, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- Not declining protection, but Delacroix-uk seems to have had a major part in the disruption and is now blocked for 24 hours. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:22, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- It is unsourced that he is British-born and now a German citizen when this is supported by the Guardian and the BBC TV news? Delacroix-uk (talk) 20:25, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- You know that it is not that simple. A number of very clear points have been raised on the article Talk page. Why do you not respond properly and clearly to them there? Your assertions here just spread the problem and miss the point. Please join in the Talk page discussion – we are trying to edit in a collegial manner here and need you to discuss things, please. Thank you. DBaK (talk) 20:42, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent Disruptive Editing. The basis of the vandalism is the subject of this page to include something on his wikipedia article. It's a not true fact, and has no reliable sources to back up the claim that he makes. Due to the large amount of subscribers that he has (454 K), this vandalism will continue to happen, and not stop. It's been protected before, for a short period of time, but as soon as it ended, wham, it's been a slow and steady stream of vandalism. Sea Cow (talk) 21:44, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

Temporary pending changes: Since mid-May the article has experienced some disruption generally from IPs causing a a couple reverts and restores a to previous version. Although not straight vandalism or BLP violations, given this is a BLP and a minor requesting pending changes for a month to help keep an eye out. S0091 (talk) 22:06, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Not sure why the page is being vandalised so much at this exact time, but it’s currently a target of persistent vandalism by various IPs and new users. Maybe protect it for like a week or two, and then we’ll see if it’s still being targeted. Felida97 (talk) 23:20, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Most IP edits to this page are attempts to switch the official URL out for a scam site. Could use semiprotect until some of the NFT hype dies down. MrOllie (talk) 00:29, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
