Susan Douglas-Scott is a Humanist Celebrant.[1] She married her partner Gerrie Douglas-Scott 31 December 2014 in the first legal same-sex marriage ceremony between two women in Scotland.[2]
She was reappointed to her role as Chair of the NHS Golden Jubilee Board in March 2022 and has previously served as the Chair of The Independent Living Fund Scotland.[3]
In 2019 Susan was appointed Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by the Queen during the New Year's Honours for her work in Human Rights in Disability and LGBT+ issues.[3]
Marriage
Susan and Gerrie Douglas-Scott married in private in Glasgow at 00:01 on 31 December 2014. Their wedding was witnessed by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Scottish Green Party co-convener Patrick Harvie MSP. They had previously entered a civil partnership in May 2006.[4]
