This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on July 6, 2022.
Blackcomb (operating system)
- Blackcomb (operating system) → Windows 7 (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
"Blackcomb" is not the codename for Windows 7 (this is mentioned in the page, btw), meaning the redirect is inaccurate. Additionally, the user creating it was blocked for creating vandalistic redirects. FMecha (to talk|to see log) 17:56, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep per Windows 7#Development history. This is obviously a likely search term. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:39, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep per Headbomb. A pinpoint redirect to Windows 7#Development history is more preferable, but I am wary to change it mid-discussion. I did bold "Blackcomb" in the text. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 19:57, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Paris, France/Musees/Louvre
- Paris, France/Musees/Louvre → Louvre (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
No clear purpose. Unlikely search term. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 17:26, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Delete as is an unlikely search term. Rubbish computer (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 20:24, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Mesablanca
- Mesablanca → SSX Tricky (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Delete - This is the name of a track in both SSX Tricky and in SSX (2000 video game). It also isn't mentioned in the article. Iffy★Chat -- 17:09, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Delete - not discussed at target and averages only about 100 pageviews a year since 2016. It's not a particularly likely search term and anyone looking for information on the track will only be disappointed. There is a nice fandom article on it. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 18:45, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Simoqî
- Simoqî → Kurdish tribes (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
- Hababa (Yazidi tribe) → Kurdish tribes (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Not mentioned at the target or anywhere else on Wikipedia, delete unless a justification can be provided. N.b., the pre-existing articles at these titles were created by a sockpuppet of an editor CU-blocked several years ago, so they qualify for G5 speedy deletion and there is no need to restore the content. signed, Rosguill talk 16:41, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
World Open Chinese Studies Journal
- World Open Chinese Studies Journal → Category:World Current Research Publishing academic journals (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Odd unused WP:XNR that links to a category without the CAT: pseudoprefix. Also, this is a bit of a surprising redirect, so I think delete. I did not know there was a much larger discussion about this at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 January 31#Category:Academic journal categories containing exclusively redirects. I am withdrawing my nomination in favor of keep TartarTorte 14:18, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- @TartarTorte There are nearly 4,000 redirects from various journal titles to this category, see Current Research Publishing academic journals&hidetrans=1&hidelinks=1&limit=500. These also appear to have been created as part of a bot task - Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/TokenzeroBot 6. Something doesn't seem right here, it seems the intention was to create redirects to the article on the publisher, but since the publisher itself is a redirect to this category they were created as category redirects instead? I really don't see the point of a category full of redirects that link back to the category, the category serves no useful navigational purpose and the redirects do not get readers to any kind of particularly useful content about the journal or its publisher (a page which says the publisher was on Beall's List but isn't notable enough for a proper article isn't particularly great). 192.76.8.85 (talk) 15:14, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep per previous discussion. See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 January 31#Category:Academic journal categories containing exclusively redirects. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 15:38, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Why on earth would this qualify for speedy keeping? First of all - something being nominated for deletion in the past does not make it exempt from ever being nominated for deletion again. Secondly that discussion was about the category, not the redirects contained within it. 192.76.8.85 (talk) 15:45, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- The discussion was both about the redirects and the categories, and everyone in that discussion understood that. And a speedy because the rationale is ill-considered, and there is nothing special about World Open Chinese Studies Journal that doesn't also apply to the tens of thousand of other redirects and the dozens of categories concerned. Any legitimate discussion needs to focus on the bulk situation, not on World Open Chinese Studies Journal. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:07, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. These categories which include only redirects to themselves were already discussed previously. (They were discussed as categories for deletion, but the points remain largely the same.) In short: they are here to redirect users who look for journals used in Wikipedia citations. Because citations are such a crucial part of Wikipedia, for questionable/predatory/deceptive journals/publishers, we'd like to present the user with a short information about that (of course with citations and with regular oversight from people working on the WP:CITEWATCH project and everyone else). There are no articles even for the publishers because they are not notable, there's nothing else to say about them. The format (mainspace redirects to a category) is unusual, but not against any rules and so far I haven't seen a significantly better proposal. See the previous discussion for details. Tokenzero (talk) 16:56, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: I would be ok with withdrawing if that's good with IP. In nominating the page I had not come across the discussion linked above. TartarTorte 18:13, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Delete. Having read the previous discussion and the responses above I am unconvinced that this is a useful redirect. If these are supposed to be a tool for editors then they belong in behind the scenes project space, possibly as part of some kind of "list of predatory journals to avoid". As it stands these are in reader facing article space, and I do not think that sending readers to a dead end category is useful. If a topic is not notable enough for an article then they don't get an article, creating a "Pseudo-article" as a category page so you don't have to follow notability guidelines is just gaming the system. 192.76.8.85 (talk) 18:18, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
American Society of Cinematographers Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in an Episode Episode of a One-Hour Television Series – Commercial
- American Society of Cinematographers Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in an Episode Episode of a One-Hour Television Series – Commercial → American Society of Cinematographers Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in an Episode of a One-Hour Television Series – Commercial (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
The page was created at this title with a duplicate "Episode" in the title. It was moved 3 days after creation, so there isn't a huge concern about external links and there are almost no wiki-links. TartarTorte 14:16, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

The Mahers
- The Mahers → Middle East respiratory syndrome (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Originally a redirect to Middle east respiratory syndrome; currently a double redirect. This was very recently made an article via translation from de-wiki about a band; this edit was reverted and remade a redirect due to lack of notability, which I agree with, but then this redirect to MERS doesn't make sense. I don't see the connection between the Mahers and MERS. Iseult Δx parlez moi 14:07, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- The Mers people article was once at this title; when it was moved from Mers the redirect was not updated. Mers people now redirects to Mer (community), which was created later; the Mer article mentions Maher as another name. It looks like this is the only use; Mahers redirects to Division No. 1, Subdivision M, Newfoundland and Labrador as it's a place name there. Peter James (talk) 17:45, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Bhagavath Singh
- Bhagavath Singh → Bhagat Singh (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
This was tagged for speedy deletion to make way for the film article Bhagavath Singh (film), however the redirect creator didn't think it appropriate for the film title to be moved to the title. Bhagat Singh was not known as Bhagavath Singh, and there is no mention at the target, so it is unclear why the redirect exists. Jay (talk) 17:30, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- Delete: No mention of Bhagavath at Bhagat Singh's article. The creator may have misassumed that the revolutionary's proper name was Bhagavath since Bhagat is a derivative from it. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:41, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- Comment as redirect creator. The nominator and I had a discussion about this at the redirect talk page. To pull out a couple of my points. The target doesn't mention Bhagavath Singh but the film article does. From Bhagavath_Singh_(film)#Release: "The film opened in December 1998 to negative reviews with a critic from Indolink.com stating that the film spoils the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh's name...". I will be honest and say I can't remember why I did create the redirect but it seems plausible that this film in some way biographical and so therefore redirecting to the primary topic makes sense. If someone could find reviews or even just a plot summary that would likely clarify whether it is unrelated or not. Tassedethe (talk) 18:48, 22 June 2022 (UTC)

- Delete and move Bhagavath Singh (film) to page. Different names, no reason to have it redirect to the freedom fighter. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 18:47, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Female pseudohermaphroditism
- Female pseudohermaphroditism → Intersex (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
male pseudohermaphrodism redirects to pseudohermaphroditism and this to intersex, why don't both redirect to the same target? — Tazuco 03:15, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Retarget to Pseudohermaphroditism per nom. Common sense solution. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 18:47, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Getty Museum, J. Paul
- Getty Museum, J. Paul → J. Paul Getty Museum (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Not clear how a user would ever search this specific term. It appears to be in the form LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME, except for the fact that "museum" is not part of Getty's name. Iseult Δx parlez moi 01:19, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Weak keep: While not a common usage, the J. Paul Getty Museum is often called the Getty Museum so for sorting it would be sorted under G most likely. Even though this isn't a human name, for sorting purposes this could be useful; however Getty Museum also redirects to J. Paul Getty Museum, which would probably be better for sorting. Fundamentally, this is a WP:CHEAP keep argument as there is at least some plausibility. TartarTorte 14:08, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Template:Redirect si
- Template:Redirect si → Template:R to plural (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
- Template:R si → Template:R to plural (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Appears to be a shortening for "singular", but easily ambiguous: {{R from singular}} or {{R to singular}}? The latter is actually even significantly more common. 1234qwer1234qwer4 00:52, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- No opinions on merits of the abbreviation, but this format without a from or to describes what the redirect is (i.e. a from), no? I mean I see the ambiguity, but Template:R alternative name, Template:R subpage, Template:R plural, etc.. J947 † edits 08:18, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

- Template:Wayback → Template:Webarchive (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
{{Wayback}}
is not nor ever was compatible with {{Webarchive}}
. A redirect will create either breakage or unintended results. If instances of {{wayback}}
get imported from other wikis or old diffs, the correct action is a red error message [missing template] so they are fixed, not hiding problems behind redirects. A lot of work was done to get rid of {{Wayback}}
years ago when {{Webarchive}}
was created, we had 100s of thousands, bringing it back from the dead is a bad idea for a couple reasons. GreenC 00:22, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- @GreenC Are you sure this discussion is in the right place? {{Wayback}} looks like it's a substitution only wrapper template, rather than a redirect? 192.76.8.85 (talk) 02:34, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
