archive.org
https://archive.org/ gets lot of links from book citations on en.wikipedia.org, can those books be included in the database? Sounds naive now, but yeah.... 0mtwb9gd5wx (talk) 09:42, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
google and archive
google and archive often have similar PD books, sometimes google allows full access and download, sometimes archive allows full access and download. It would be nice to have both links in a citation since they have different features. Hathitrust often sets restrictions, while google and archive may have less restrictions. Is there a better place to post this? .... 0mtwb9gd5wx (talk) 09:53, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
Script to define favorite book source
Back in 2005, user Lunchboxhero shared a script to rewrite ISBN links to the URL of one's choice. This can be useful for users who want to be taken directly to a specific library or bookstore upon clicking on an ISBN link, obviating the need to select it manually from the "Book sources" page every time. Unfortunately, the script does not appear to work anymore. Looking at the associated talk page, it looks like this is because it is using deprecated parameters. As I'm not a programmer, I don't know how to fix the script, but perhaps others are willing to take a look? Pablo Stafforini (talk) 13:25, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
xISBN
Per oclc.org this service was discontinued six years ago. What gives?
I'm removing the section in the meanwhile. Do feel free to restore if a working link can be supplied. CapnZapp (talk) 19:55, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
