Feedback on Wikipedia Article
Hello Professor,
Yasmine and I have continued working on our wikipedia article about Cosmetic surgery in South Korea and were wondering if we could receive some additional feedback to find out what we could further improve. Since last time, we have updated our references to solve some of the issues that were caused by the automatic generation. We've also added more statistics and details about the forms and plastic surgery.
Thank you in advance.
-- RonanHoogmoed (talk) 06:31, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- @RonanHoogmoed Excellent job. Can you add some pictures of Korean clinics? I've seen them around, avertised, should be possible to get a picture of the building hosting one, and maybe a lobby?
- For the last paragraph, consider expanding a bit more with [1].
- I see a few unreferenced sentences. Once you add the missing references, I think your project is finished - you can then move it mainspace and add WP:CATEGORIES. Stop by my office if you need help. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:31, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
Final feedback: Media Trends and Globalization & Understanding Small Data and Big Data (Hojeong Lee&Subin Jung)
Hello, professor! We are taking 'Media Trends and Globalization' and 'Understanding Small Data and Big Data'.
We have finished revising both Korean and English articles. In addition, the items of 'Jeju Wikivoyage' were moved to 'Jeju-Si' and 'Seogwipo' respectively.
If there is no problem, We will delete the items of 'Jeju Wikivoyage' after checking with you. Please check. Thank you!

- You are making very good progress. I think you can remove the items from Jeju that were moved.
- Your Korean translation is very good. Your English one is quite good too, but few small fixes are still neded:
- One. Your lead (intro, abstract) summarizest he contents of pollution sections, but not others. Please add one paragraph summarizing geographica and social environment sections.
- Two. Please remove unencyclopedid personal/essay style like "Our land". "Your land" is not the land of most of the article international readers (same problem later in the article: "Our government"). Another example of wrong style is "Why are there so many tunnels here?". We don't ask questions in the article. "If you interpret the name" - we don't address the reader directly, please remove. The same problem is with "Let's look at the current status of carbon neutrality in domestic companies.". Remove "Flogging continues to be a steady activity in various regions and ages. Flogging does not solve environmental problems spectacularly. Nor is it a refreshing solution. However, in our daily lives, with a small effort that citizens can make, we think it is an activity that can change the environment in which we live. Even if I can't change the whole planet, the area around where I live can change", this is WP:EDITORIALIZING and not relevant to Korea. What is good for a personal reflection WP:ESSAY is not good for encyclopedic article and style. Other examples: "The problem of automobile exhaust is also an urgent problem that cannot be neglected". "Therefore, it is time to respond strongly to".
- Three. Please add some more wikilinks like to the Ramsar Convention, Upo Wetland, national parks of South Korea, KOSPI, Beautiful Store are some examples - please read the text and add blue link to the first time an encyclopedic term is used. In some cases, please double check the English name, for example Jirisan Mountain Park should probably be (and link to) Jirisan National Park. Or in the case of "Seoul Environmental Union" I can't verify such a name exists in English (you can keep it but please provide a name in Hangul, preferably link to a Wikipedia aritcle about that organization).
- Four. If an article exists on Korean Wikipedia but not English, please link it using Template:Interlanguage link.
- Five. ESG should link to Environmental, social, and corporate governance, but, that section is somewhat unclear. You don't explain relevance to Korea until the second half of that section. It reads like apromotion of Kyobo and Coway, and if you cannot revise it significantly, I suggest deleting it (or moving it to the talk page for discussion with other volunteers). Or at least merge it with "An environmental organization" section which has the same theme (responces to the environmental issues in Korea by various organizations). It's ok to have subsections for for-profit organizations and non-profit ones like you did.
- Six. First paragraph of "Others (Vegan Enterprises)" section is not related to Korea. Please delete it and merge that section (it's too short to be a stand-alone).
- Seven. Some references need to be replaced with reliable ones. blog.naver.com - blogs are not reliable sources. Neither is Namu Wiki.
- Eight. Remember that all references should provide a name of the author, publisher, date, and title. If the title is in Korean, please use the "translated title" parameter to add English translation (do not remove the Korean title). Example: https://www.dbpia.co.kr/Journal/articleDetail?nodeId=NODE09080023 should contain information that it was published in the Journal of the Korean Geographic Society in 2006, that the author is 권동희, etc.
- Despite my lenghty comments, I'll stress that your article is already quite good, I am impressed. Keep up the good job! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Finished my wikipedia translation.
Hi, Professor! I finished my Wikipedia translation, can you please take a look and give feedback? Here is a link to my sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:ThuptenRekonkati/sandbox ThuptenRekonkati (talk) 05:55, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- @ThuptenRekonkati Looks good, please publish it on the Wikipedia (see WP:MOVE) and we will see if there are any comments from the Dutch volunteers patrolling new articles. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:47, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
Final feedback: Understanding Small Data and Big Data(CHENG SIYU&CHEN XINLEI)
Hello, Professor. I am Cheng Siyu from the course Understanding Small Data and Big Data. Our team edits the page is jiaxing. We keep forgetting to leave a comment and just show you the page in class. Now we have revised it and made changes based on other people's feedback. Now I would like to ask you to help us see, is there anything that needs to be improved?https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Jiaxing Csiiiyu (talk) 06:20, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Csiiiyu Your article is very good. Few fixes needed:
- the "By car" section should be more of a prose than a list. I am not sure what it lists. Is this a list of all roads that connect to the city?
- add a section "by plane" and mention the nearest airport
- some listings like Vincent Abbey don't connect to Wikidata. Please see if there are Wikidata items to connect or create new ones
- Yuehe Street needs a GPS coordinate
- are there any festivals in the region? If so, please add a "Festivals" section to "Do" and list them there, with GPS coordinates for their locations and information on dates, and ideally, links to the festivals official pages

Final feedback: Media Trends and Globalization (CAI YAYU&LUAN QIANYUE)
Hello, professor! We are taking Media Trends and Globalization. We have finished revising both Chinese and English articles. Please check. Thank you! Chinese:https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%9F%A9%E5%9B%BD%E5%8C%BB%E7%96%97%E4%BD%93%E7%B3%BB English;https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_China Caiyayu (talk) 06:30, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Caiyayu Your Chinese translation is pretty good. Please add WP:CATEGORIES to it. Also, I see the notice "此條目可能需要清理,以符合维基百科质量标准。" from November 4. Please contact the Chinese experienced reviewer who added it, zh:User:Iokseng, and ask them what they think needs to be fixed.
- Can you ad more images to the article? Remember, images have to be freely licenced, from Wikmedia Commons or taken by yourself. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:07, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
Final feedback: Media Trends and Globalization(MINJI JEONG, JIYEON LEE)
Hello, professor. We modified the parts that the professor gave us feedback as much as possible. However, there are some excerpts from the entire paragraph, so the source notation may seem small. Please check it. Thank you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MINJI_JEONG/Basic_Old-Age_Pension_in_South_Korea MINJI JEONG (talk) 09:20, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- @MINJI JEONG This looks better. Please retitle "Additional information" section into more meaningful heading. What is the section about?
- For references, when a Korean title is used, please add English translation as well (do not remove the Korean translation, add English to the "translated title" parameter).
- Please move your article from your sanbox to the mainspace (see WP:MOVE) and then connect it to the Korean article (see WP:INTERWIKI). Then we will see if there are any comments from other Wikipedia volunteers. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:11, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- As you gave us feedback, we changed the title to 'Discussion point'. We also added an English translation to the reference. Finally, you moved the text from the sandbox to the main page. Please check it. MINJI JEONG (talk) 10:07, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- @MINJI JEONG Good, but you need to change the heading title to something meaningful. "Additional information" or "Discussion point" sound like WP:TRIVIA, and if you cannot title the section in a way that is informative, I am afraid it will have to be removed. Please try to answer the question: what is this section about? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:36, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
